Born into a family with 15 children, Jose Ramirez was lucky number 7. He started his pursuit of this dream as a 13-year-old bagboy at a grocery store in what is known as The Highlands area of Denver. He later worked as a server at Las Palmas, working 60-70 hours per week, eventually becoming the server manager. He would work so much that he would oftentimes sleep in his car while providing for his wife, Martha, and his two sons, Luis and Daniel.Jose saved up enough money to open up the first Los Dos Potrillos location in Centennial in 2002. Jose opened this first location of Los Dos with just $5.18 left in his bank account.

Restaurant supplying Mexican favorites & margaritas in a colorful, lively atmosphere.

We had the taquiza and it’s amazing, our waiter Jorge was really nice, helpful and took good care of us. The flavors and the service are excellent. The portions are big, and we even had left overs and extra tortillas.

We had the queso and the Molcajete, to try a little bit of everything. It was plenty for 2 of us. The steak was our favorite, said we will try steak fajitas next time.

Ask for Ana — she’s the reason to come back. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive without being overbearing, knew the menu well, and steered us straight to the molcajete (do not sleep on it). The happy hour is a great deal too. Solid spot all around, but Ana is the standout.

Excellent food and service. The margarita flight was strong (in a good way)! Kudos to Max, our server, for asking about allergies when taking our order.

I LOVE Los Dos, it is our go to Mexican spot. But our service and food was so terrible today that I’m not sure I will go back. I ordered a chili relleno that had no chili inside, and when I showed the waitress, she said it was normal. We came for a late lunch and the restaurant was fairly empty compared to the regular crowd, yet our service was slow and not good. Our waitress forgot multiple drinks, messed up our check twice, and didn’t return for refills. Not pleased, and disappointed that our favorite spot was such a bad experience this time!

Naudia was an outstanding hostess. Kind, caring, and very professional! The food was superb and we enjoyed and recommend the happy hour combo. Our fav dish is the molcajete which is the most delicious Mexican quinine in all of Colorado. Particularly at this location!

Good and spicy! This last round with the chunks of chicken on top of the burrito were so seized up and dry like chicken jerky, and the refried beans need som help as it was more refried beans soup. Still their flavors are good and the wait on a Friday night wasn’t too bad.

Fantastic(o)!!!
Absolutely loved this spot. Max was speedy, helpful, and genuinely welcoming-service was on point from start to finish. The steak in the fajitas was juicy, packed with flavor, and cooked perfectly. Great vibes, great food, and even better service. Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone downhill over time. The food isn’t as good as it used to be, and the overall quality just feels inconsistent now. The staff also isn’t nearly as attentive or professional as before. There was one hostess I really liked who was friendly and welcoming, but I haven’t seen her in a while, so I’m not sure what happened. Recently, the front staff seems more focused on personal drama than on customers, which makes the experience uncomfortable. If things don’t improve, I may stop coming here altogether, which is disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorites.

We had an excellent experience at Los Dos Potrillos in Littleton. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome.

A special shout-out to the manager, Angel Rivera, who truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail really stood out and made our visit even better.

Great atmosphere, amazing service, and a team that genuinely cares about their customers. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this location!
