The food slaps hard here. Went for the first time on 12/23. Here are some helpful tips:

1) The place comes highly recommended for good reason.

2) …everything I ate was amazing, except for the Shanghai eggrolls. They can’t all be winners! But if you ask for the hot mustard, you will love it anyway.

3) safe bets if it is your first time – Hunan beef, Mongolian beef, beef and broccoli, lo mein combo.

…Do not “sleep on” the hot and sour soup. It makes a strong first impression while you wait for your meal.

4) they have a semi private dining area available if you would like more privacy and less ambient noise.

5) The staff was fantastic. They know what they’re doing, and they have a really good system in place, where they all support each other to make sure that you’re taken care of quickly and frequently. This is not often the case at “other restaurants.”

6) bonus points if you speak Mandarin or Cantonese. Both are widely circulated here amongst patrons and staff.

Please like if you found this review to be helpful. …it lets me know if I should keep doing these.

Went there on a weekday for dinner and loved the food, ambiance, service, great lighting and quick service. Mentioning the dishes we ordered in the order of my preference.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Austin. I hope that the standard remains same.

Spicy Sichuan wontons, Pork and Shrimp Shumai, Shanghai soup dumpling, Shrimp hargao, steamed bbq pork bun (I found it a bit sweet but others loved it), chicken feet (I didn’t try it but others liked it).

New Fortune has become our go-to restaurant every week, and it never disappoints. The Hong Kong–style typhoon lobster was absolutely outstanding—perfectly seasoned, aromatic, and full of flavor. Their dim sum is consistently fresh, delicious, and authentic, with every dish arriving hot and beautifully prepared.

The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is comfortable whether we’re stopping in for a quick meal or a longer family dinner. It’s rare to find a place that delivers this level of quality and consistency week after week, but New Fortune truly does.

Highly recommended to anyone who loves great seafood, top-notch dim sum, and a reliably excellent dining experience! #toddlerfriendly

Hi guys. Thanks for reading my review. We are so happy we tried the New Fortune Restaurant. They did an amazing job when they were situated in China Town. The move to Cedar Park didn’t change the experience. It was fire!
Atmosphere: Welcoming, spacious, clean.
Staff: Friendly, helpful, engaging, attentive, polite, courteous.
Food: For those that haven’t had Dim Sum, it’s like small shareable plates. You get to try many different dishes at their best.
They were amazing! The food was well-prepared and portion was great for the price. They have great variety to choose from.
Highly recommend. Will return.

Went a few months back and it was amazing! While it might be a bit expensive It makes up for large portions! It’s by far my favorite Chinese place I’ve had so far, I plan on coming back a lot soon.

So glad New Fortune is back and it’s closer to me. We go for the dim sum but of course we always order something from the regular menu. This time, we ordered Salt n Pepper Shrimp and Szechuan Style Green Beans along with a few dim sum items.

My wife and I have lived in Cedar Park since 2023. We have struggled to find authentic Chinese food. I was born and raised in New York City and going to Chinatown for real food was just a 15 minute walk from our family’s business. After trying virtually every joint in town we were so happy to have finally found New Fortune 2. The selection of fresh seafood, real authentic Hong Kong style noodles and veggies reminded me of the food I grew up eating on a weekly basis. We always start with a large bowl of hot and sour soup and it is the best I’ve had in years. So far we have enjoyed their Singapore noodles, the Shrimp and snow peas are very high quality. We also love the Dim Sum. The chicken and basil dumplings were super yummy and the bean curd roll in oyster sauce was perfection. I highly recommend the pan fried noodles with vegetables and the beef with string beans. Huge selection of traditional and also American-Chinese dishes. The place is very nice and clean. The entire staff is very friendly.

We came here drawn by the rice cake, and it did not disappoint—the sauce was incredibly smooth, almost soothing as you swallowed it. My husband insists their chicken feet are the best in Austin. We also tried the sticky rice in lotus leaf for the first time, and it was absolutely stunning—rich, fragrant, and satisfying. From soup dumplings to har gow, everything we tasted was delicious and well-prepared.

The service was decent, though we were seated in an area the dim sum trolley rarely reached. We had to flag down a waiter to order directly from the cart, which took away from the usual dim sum experience. Another downside was how they cleaned the tables—they kept rolling a cart full of dirty dishes around us multiple times, which really killed the mood and made the food less appetizing.

Overall, the food makes this place worth visiting, but they could definitely improve the logistics and table service for a better dining experience.

Visiting Austin, and surprisingly found nice restaurant serving Cantonese food. Food is super. Service is warm and friendly. This place is huge that we don’t have to wait or reserve ahead of time. Will come again.

Pretty good dim sum for the area. Expect a wait because it gets crowded. They use the cart system, but since it’s table based, the popular dishes go fast. If you’re at the end of the line, you might have to wait a while for the good stuff to get restocked
