Canal Park Brewing company is a locally owned family venture. We’ve successfully owned and operated many businesses in the twin ports and the surrounding area for over fifty years. However, creating a brewery on the shore of Lake Superior was a longtime dream. Our ties to the brewing industry in Duluth go back as far as the 1940’s and 1950’s when our great uncle, Maxamillian Herrnberger I, was employed by Fitger’s Brewery. as a treat, he would bring these handcrafted beers and sodas to family gatherings. We salute those who’ve mastered the art of crafting beer and we’ve passed on these rich traditions from one generation to the next. Welcome, we hope you enjoy the craft beer, great food, and amazing view.
Industrial-chic microbrewery featuring artisanal beers & area-sourced pub food.

Enjoyed a nice date here with my wife. It’s a decently large place with a separate bar area and even a merchant spot. Right on the lake walk with some great views. Everything here was great. Great food, I had a buffalo chicken mac and wife had one of the salads. We shared pretzels for an appetizer and a cobbler type desert, both very good. They have great tasting craft beers and lots of cocktails to choose from as well! The service was fantastic. Definitely a place you will want to check out if you are in the area!

Our visit to Canal Park Brewing Company was quite enjoyable. While the indoor setting was what you’d expect from a typical brewery, the outdoor area made great use of its lakeside location. The service was attentive, and our food arrived quickly. We tried the Mac and Cheese with beef brisket and the Reuben with potato soup on the side; both dishes were delicious. What really made the dining experience was the Swedish Cream dessert, which was outstanding. We would gladly return for another meal.

Nice little brewery right on the lake. I had great, quick service. I had the bowl of chili as it was one of those windy beginning of fall cool days it it hit the spot perfectly. Was nice and chunky and had just a touch of heat. Then I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and it had a perfect amount of heat for a chilly day. To drink I had a strawberry mango lemonade Arnold Palmer. It was perfect.

Canal Park Brewing Company has a really great atmosphere with a fun vibe right on the lake. It’s a nice place to grab a drink and enjoy the view. That said, the food doesn’t live up to the price point. A $20 hamburger just wasn’t worth it, and overall the value didn’t match the experience. Worth visiting for the atmosphere, but not for the food prices.

I’m an out of town girl, Kansas to be specific and I was up north visiting the lake when I decided to get something to eat before I traveled to Minneapolis. This place has got to be one of the best breweries I’ve ever been to. Sophia was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal, she was on top of everything and just so sweet. Took the time to chat and whatnot but also was considerate about everything. Overall this might be one of the best experiences in a restaurant that I’ve ever had and will certainly be back again!
Not to mention there’s Lake Superior right behind the restaurant so we were able to get some good photos before we got settled down to eat! Thanks CPB!

Excellent beer and specialty drink choices. Diverse menu. Food is really tasty. Service was great. View of Lake Superior and the boardwalk that loops along the shoreline. Outside dining available. Very spacious inside dining. Very busy restaurant with an industrial type design makes for a loud atmosphere. Constructive criticism would be needs better access for limited mobility folks. I’m on crutches and it was a long slippery walk from the limited spaces parking lot. Also, pricey but that’s typical for most decent Duluth dining options. Will definitely be back.

Great place for lunch in the Canal area close to the scenic walkway on Lake Superior. The outdoor patio was in a fantastic location and the beer and food was great. The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, buffalo Mac and cheese were fantastic. The beer cheese soup and dry run chicken wings were great appetizers.

4.5 only because the restaurant was freezing.
This was our first time to visit Canal Park Brewing Co. I would choose this over Grandma’s Saloon any day. The FISH AND CHIPS was the perfect recommendation from our server Natalie. Fish fresh from Superior, battered and fried perfectly! Crispy outside and juicy inside. All the sauces are fresh too and tasty. The spicy chicken wrap was also delicious and a perfect blend of flavors. The beer was good and cold too. What a unique place. We’ll be back for sure!
