When I walked in, the owner was buying a new brand of wine, which he was sampling with the salesman. That is a nice touch knowing the items on the menu are hand-picked. It is an indication of a good place with a single hometown owner. Then he went around talking with the customers, which is very old school awesome!
They have a wide selection of food from pasta to seafood to steak. I had the breaded chicken parm, which was delicious. I have a soft spot for pasta, so it hit the spot.
The bread was freshly baked, and the butter was so flavorful. It was probably the best bread I had all year! The bread was as many loafs as you can eat.
The staff was extremely friendly and made this old truck driver feel like I was at my hometown haunt, DuNunzios near Pittsburgh.
The atmosphere is old Italian cozy. I just walked in and grabbed a seat. There is a nice little bar with plenty of tables. Soft music plays from the speakers along with the usual TVs and boos.
Overall, it was a great experience! Thanks for making me feel at home away from home in Canton, Ohio!
The bill only came to 26 dollars! What a steal!
A low rating when it’s a mom and pop shop…. I couldn’t resist …. Started off with Bruschetta and stuffed hot peppers with Italian sausage…. The bruschetta came out like a loaf of bread cut in half with the toppings on it which made it soggy …. Which it should’ve been on a baguette and or thinly sliced bread that was toasted to perfection to hold up to the toppings…. Instead it was extremely bland and focaccia style undercooked bread …. The peppers with Italian sausage … had no flavor and the sauce came out extremely watery that was on it … and of coarse bland as all can be …. For my main dish, I told the server that I want a mind blowing dish that will make me want to come back …. Didn’t care what it was … as long as it was authentic and cooked to perfection…. She selected, walleye with a light crust and honey mustard glaze along with green beans….. EVERYTHING was in need of salt and pepper….. beyond bland … which is a huge disappointment…. There is a difference when cooking with salt and pepper …. Rather than add it to a dish that has never been seasoned ….. it doesn’t taste the same …. Seasoning NEEDS to be cooked into the dish … that way it elevates it to the next level …. An on top of it …. Our server never checked up on us to see how things were nor to check on our empty drinks …. It would be one thing if it was the weekend or something…. But it was a Wednesday night with a half full restaurant…. No excuse…. So when we got our bill … which came to $150 for two people …. And I addressed my concerns…. Nothing was done to our bill or even a way to make up for the poor experience…. I was definitely not looking for a free meal by no means ….. just wanted it to be handled properly. In all honesty…. I will not be going back to this establishment!
