Upmarket, contemporary restaurant featuring local cuisine with a Japanese twist.

One of, if not the, best restaurant experience I’ve ever had.
It’s one of those complete culinary experiences, curated and thoughtfully planned from you first enter the main door until you leave. Everything flows perfectly, the staff are equally friendly and on top of their game – regardless of role. We had a 12-course tasting menu with the 9-glass standard wine paring (premium wines and saké options available).
I’m not going to paraphrase back the dishes, but will say that it’s the perfect example of prime Nikkei (Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients) cuisine as you enjoy dishes from all the various elements – one more interesting than the other. The Blue Fin Tuna sushi was an extra treat, but it’s really impossible to determine a winner here.
The service was impeccable throughout the restaurant, from our main waiter to a generous amount of times spent with the head chef (Micha) himself.
Guide Michelin is missing an obvious * * * restaurant by its lack of Peru coverage. A must visit, for any culinary enthusiast whilst in Lima.

The meal was absolutely phenomenal. My family and I chose to dine in for the full experience, and it did not disappoint. Each dish was clearly handcrafted with care and attention to detail. The service was top-tier—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you can truly tell pride is taken in both the food and the experience. We will definitely be coming back!

This was my second time at Maido, coming back after many years, and it was absolutely worth it.
I returned mainly for the asado de tira, and it was spectacular, incredibly tender, full of flavor, and simply unforgettable. Highly, highly recommended, this is a must-order.
The limón rugoso dessert, the one in the photo, was also outstanding, bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Do not miss it.
We also tried the ceviche temaki, which was interesting and nicely executed, the otoshi was very good, and the cod tempura was delicious as well.
Overall, an excellent experience, but the true highlights were definitely the asado de tira and the limón rugoso dessert.

Top tier meal. Inventive, beautifully plated, very delicious, and attentive service. Ambiance is refined yet amiable.
Nissei ceviche was delectable. Texture game on point.
Toro nigiri was seared at the table side and as good as it gets.
Sanguchito had the most tender crispy fish I’ve ever had. But the flavor reminded me exactly of…a Carl’s Jr crispy chicken sandwich! Chef, don’t commit seppuku; it was good!
Short rib (asado) was best I ever had. Utterly delectable.
Amador for dessert was perfectly bittersweet and the textures harmonized well.
Murasaki drink was pretty and yummy. Muna tea was a nice variant of a mint tea.

This is a unique restaurant where the where the cuisine is a combination of Peruvian and Japanese. The food is freshly prepared with local ingredients and the flavors are delightful. Every dish is innovative and delicious. No they have a special vegetarian tasting menu and the experience is amazing and unforgettable. If you are in Lima, I highly recommend this, but, be aware it is extremely expensive and require reservations. Normally the waiting period to get a reservation is long .

This restaurant is a TOURIST TRAP, don’t waste your money here, you can have a banquet on other restaurants in Lima for that price. The food wasn’t good, I was expecting a higher elaborate menu but found a mediocre one. The first three appetizers were ok but the other six meals not good at all, and finally the three desserts were not good enough. How can they bring you mango sorbet, why can’t they elaborate a more sophisticated dessert? Finally the waiter asked for tips, why doesn’t the restaurant pays them enough money for their service, tips should be optional. I can say the service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect.

During our Lima visit – we were able to get a reservation (2 months in advance) for our family to try the 12-course meal at Maido. As expected, the service was exceptional! The Appetizers were unique and delicious. All dishes were small but after 12 courses, you were definitely full! My favorites were the Toro and Uni Sushi and the Plaintain Gelato! The Toro melted in your mouth! The 12 course took almost 3 hours to complete but definitely worth a visit if you want to visit one of the Best Restaurants of the World!

This was by far the star of my trip to Lima. Everything was absolutely delicious. Very inexpensive considering the level of dining. We ordered off the ala cart menus and spent around 200 US for two with drinks. State side it would have been 3x the price. Expensive for Peru but I have spent this much at far lower quality restaurants in the States. When Michelin comes to Peru this will be a 3 star restaurant!

I don’t known where to start. Everything was absolutely perfect. The drinks, the starters, appetizers, the sushi, the mains. One person in or party also did the 12 course tasting menu and it was perfectly crafted with layers of flavors in each bite. Each dish was a wonderful tribute to Peruvian culture and cuisine while using modern techniques. And the service was absolutely out of this world. I’d make thr trip back to Peru just to visit Maido.

Legitimately one of the best meals we have ever had. Every detail was done so well. An incredible variety of flavors and techniques used across Peruvian and Japanese cuisines. Service was excellent, drinks were delicious (Piscos are the go to). We were here for 3 hours but it never felt too long. Highly recommend coming in if you can get a reservation, but also worth calling them to see if they have a sushi bar seat open as well (more likely earlier in the day when they open). Fantastic all around.
