This restaurant was great! Came here with friends while visiting the city and really enjoyed it. We ordered 2 pizzas, breadsticks, and 10 wings for three of us and it was all delicious! I would recommend the Detroit style pizza and the mild wing sauce!

This is the first time I have been at this location. I have been to other locations in the past, and this one is just as good. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. Staff were friendly, and the service was quick.
We started with a few apps; fried pierogies, zucchini planks, and hush puppies, all of which were good. I typically order their hand tossed, but we decided to give the Brooklyn and the 8-mile pie a try. I’m not a fan of thin pizza, and the Brooklyn is just that. You definitely could not load it with toppings. Flavor was good, just not a thin pizza girl. The 8 mile is a Detroit deep dish that satisfied my dough craving.
Lots to choose from on their menu to satisfy everyone i feel. They also have daily specials. Prices are reasonable. Nice location to get to from route 28 or freeport road. There is street parking or a parking lot across from the restaurant.

Overall the food we got was good however the Grandma Ruffa pizza was lacking on Ricotta in both the amount given and the finesse in placement…it looked like a pigeon randomly pooped on the pizza. Although we ordered the basic breadsticks they were just bare of anything…not very appetizing. For 5 items it cost $130… I guess maybe I expected a little more from our food. Nothing stood out as a “Wow this is awesome” and quite honestly there’s a lot of competition out there that would love to have our business too. We probably won’t return. Maybe they need more customers to do reviews so they can truly understand what areas need improvement. I’m ABLE to spend the money but I’m not WILLING to spend the money on something I’m not 100% satisfied with.

We had two pies: Detroit and Pickle. Both were impeccable, arguably the best pizza we’ve ever had. Server was amazing, great with adults and kids alike.
Our kids had amazing fun making and flying paper airplanes in the backroom, while playing / eating with balls of dough – what fun : ) And the craft beers paired super with the food – we had a few rounds of vanilla porter… YUM

So I ordered the meemaw because it was highly recommended. It was a contest winner and I figured since it was their signature well-loved pizza, I’d get it for my first time eating here
The focaccia was very oily. It was okay. Focaccia but it was more focaccia than like Sicilian style pizza. There was barely any sauce. The vegetables and seasoning was okay and there was parmesan on it. They got it melted but not quite crisp and it was just okay.
The pizza was very bland, like there was some flavor. Yes, but it didn’t really taste like a pizza or feel like a pizza. It felt like I had loaded some toppings onto a slice of focaccia bread, which I love me a focaccia pizza or Sicilian style pizza.
This didn’t feel like either of those. It just did not mesh well at all. And honestly I think I’ve had better frozen pizzas than this pizza. Normally I like to give a place two or three times to really make sure that everything is consistent.
But with the flavorless zucchini planks and the very bland hush puppies, I don’t know if I can in good conscience bring my money back. Maybe I’ll try them again in a few months and then update my review. But as it stands right now, this is not a place that I would recommend or say was worth the money or anything based on my experience with it.

This is the 2nd time i ordered from them within a 2 month period. First time the pizza tasted like cardboard and bad frozen store bought pizza. I had good experiences years ago ago so i wanted to give them another try and this time was the worst. I paid $43 for this “award winning” pizza and this is how it turns out. It is one of the worst pizzas i’ve ever tried and i can’t even eat it. I feel like i should get a full refund for how bad this is. I don’t know what is going on there but it’s just sad.

We ordered via Uber Eats. The Uber driver confirmed he delivered all the food he was given but we are missing 3 items. After driving 8 hours in the car for a family funeral all we wanted was dinner. Unfortunately due to the missing items a member of our family has no food to eat while others don’t have a complete meal. This was our first time trying Caliente and during future visits to town we will not give them another try. Food we did get was ok, but nothing great.
