Great spot for a cold one, a true icon if you are driving Melbourne – Sydney.
Take the time to look at all the great work by cartoonist Ken Maynard whilst also adding your name to the walls of the establishment.

We camped here with our caravan overnight free of charge. The cartoon inspired pub was so different. It is apparently based on the cartoon sketches of Ken Maynard who did sketches for the Australian Post. It was built in 1987 originally as a family restaurant. Really worth while the visit.

I was really disappointed with our visit.
No obvious menus or advertised meal times. Limited drink options, toilet cubicles had no paper and the staff seemed really disinterested.
I did however enjoy the look around at the memorabilia and writing on the walls.
There was also limited signage on the highway, so you really need to either know where you are going or spot it at the last moment like we did.

Great place to just pull in and have a good feed and a few beers. Meals are big and beers are well priced.
Toilets open 24/7 and a basic shower available too!
I’ll be back!

We never stayed for a meal but it’s been a long long time since our last visit. I would like to give a big shout out to the lovely lady who was serving us we sat at the bar and had the best conversation. The 2 blokes that were working were great too and 1 gave us this book about all the new developments that are going to happen which OMG will be amazing not to mention the employment it will bring in. I won’t mention any of it as you will have to go look yourself. The only negative was not alot of alcoholic drinks on offer and no spirits. I’m ceoliac so gf beer would of tickled my tastebuds.

Despite what Google says the iconic pub is definitely not closed down.
Called past for a look and ended up staying for a beer, dinner (great steak and very friendly staff… thank you!) and enjoyed the night in their free camping area.
Absolutely recommend stopping in here for a taste of the local history!

What a fabulous place in so many ways. I highly recommend in coming here. The publican and barman were so lovely, friendly and willing to help me. I’ve been here before and was happy we came back again.

Novelty pub that’s worth seeing in person. Suspect because so many people are in and out is why service was average, but the cartoons inside the bar to match the outside themselves were great to read over. Stopped off for a quick beer and wander around the large bar area.

Very unique place. Take your time to uncover the story behind the place and how it came to live from the head of his inventor into the real world. There is also a free campground right next to the pub. Well worth a visit.

Great quirky place. Sat outside on the verandah with our dog. So much to see around the property. Lunch was excellent battered flathead cooked perfectly and beef burger. Free camping out the back with access to toilets and showers. Wish we had known would have stayed there.
