When I say El Tejas Twist was phenomenal… I mean PHE-NO-ME-NALLLLLLL.
We got the ribs, elote, birria ramen, and birria quesadilla. The ribs were so soft, juicy, and melt in your mouth. The birria quesadilla was cheesy and perfectly flavorful. The birria ramen was flavorful as well and had generous birria meat in it.
We stopped by as we drove into DFW and I’m so glad we did because OMAIGAAAA

Everything here was so goood!!! We had the birria quesadilla that was so juicy and flavorful. We also had the platter with sausage, ribs, brisket, and a side of broccoli casserole. The brisket was just falling apart and so full of flavor. And it’s a given that you need to get the Texas Twinkies! We will definitely be back. And once it gets warmer we’ll be back to enjoy the outside games as well.

Delicious! Get the El Tejas Trinity…..great sampling of brisket, ribs and sausage. Try the spicy cabbage and bacon, too. The chicken verde Molly Taco is a must also! It’s a tamale stuffed quesadilla….so good!

Picked this place off of pictures and reviews. It did not disappoint. Ordered the Trinity, elote, and a half dozen tamales. Plenty of food for 2 and still took home some. The thick slices of brisket were moist and tender. Ribs were juicy and flavorful. This place is a must stop for anyone driving through the area.

This may be the longest food review I write lol. This place deserves it! After making a visit from Fate which is just a lil up the road from Forney, I have to say this is absolutely my new favorite bbq joint! First let me start by saying their Texas Twinkie’s are the best compared to Hutchins! I no longer have to travel so far for a Texas Twinkie anymore! I have now found this amazing lil gem that serves them near perfect in my opinion. I came on a Sunday at 11 with lil to no line. My friend and I ordered pork ribs, sliced brisket (you have a choice lean or moist) moist is my go to and I made no mistake, turkey and a couple of Texas Twinkies. Portions were bigger than I anticipated for a half lb let me tell ya! It fed the 2 of us and still lbs leftover! They do not skimp! Even the small size for their sides can feed 2. I also ordered 1 of their tamales of the day which was chicken mole. Let me just say I love chicken mole and did not know how this would taste in a tamale and to my surprise it was just simply amazing and full of flavor. I will say I did an “add-on”, this tops your tamale with salsa verde, crema (sour cream) and cotija cheese. Listen that alone was a meal in itself. Sides ordered were mac and cheese and potato salad. Also ordered the chips and queso to start. So good! I give this place a solid 9.5! The bark and flavor on their meats solid 10! No bbq sauce needed, meat was perfect on its own. They do have a mexican spin to their menu so checkout all the other items you wont find at many other bbq spots! After asking for to-go boxes they asked how everything was and spoke to me a lil bit and were very friendly so hospitality 100/10. Go check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in with the wife and infant, we chose the Trinity tray, BEST FOOD IN TEXAS , HANDS DOWN. The new hot sauce was banging also.
We live in Florida but visit friends in Athens, well worth the drive from the surrounding region. Staff were helpful, polite and service their customers well.
The brisket will have you on the edge of your seat as your taste buds go insane with the juicy moist goodness.

This is a really cool spot I love outdoor setting. This place has inside, a patio that can be closed outside and an outside. Definitely coming back especially when they have live music.

Best brisket i have had in dallas. Better than pecan lodge. Better than Lockharts. Hands down THE BEST. Moist and tender. Perfect bark and texture. Also the cheddar jalapeño sausage was AMAZING. I will make an effort to come here anytime I want bbq.

I walked in late so I was only able to get the brisket. I took this as a sign that the BBQ was going be good. I ordered a Brisket sandwich and immediately was impressed. The brisket falls apart in your hand. It had a smoke ring showing good smoking techniques where used. The bark was delicious. This is THE BEST BBQ SPOT IN FORNEY, TX! 10/10 would come again.
