HAVEN: Chill spot — I imagine it’s much busier during lunch hours, very quiet in evenings. We were seated right away and served water. Food- The pad see ew was a bit too saucy and on the salty side, and the papaya salad could’ve used a touch more acidity. The egg rolls, like everything else, were just okay. The pho (which I forgot to get a photo of) was the best thing we ordered tonight, nice fragrance, not overpowering, not overly salty or sweet, good balance in flavor. Overall, not bad — and it’s close to home, so convenient.

I will say the ratings are definitely inflated based on my experience. On the plus the staff is pleasant, food came out really fast and the portions are generous. The taste I was unfortunately not impressed and I can’t say that my friends were either based on their feedback for example you’ll get a much higher quality meal at Big Bowl. The price here should be under $15 for the quality . Decor is also unfinished, needs a little more tlc to complete the look. solid 3.7

Me and my wife decided to try this new to us Asian eatery for a date night dinner. First off let me say the that the food was delicious and the portions a great value even though part of the menu were ala carte making the mean more expensive.
Upon walking up to the restaurant we noted that the parking was sparsely populated. And the restaurant despite its open sign appeared to be deserted.
There was no welcoming ambience and when we walked in the the young hostess told us nonchalantly to seat ourselves neither greeting us or giving us menus.
There were no decorations of any kind to invite us into a land of enchanting food so indicative of an Asian restaurant. It was like walking into a black and white TV set. Dirty and scuffed grey painted cement floors looked more like an unkempt warehouse than a restaurant.
The only thing that saves this place is the large glassed in atrium at the back of the restaurant and even that could do with a little more landscaping effort .
The booths and cafe tables were black the wall were painted off white. One wall was covered in a tasteful cut rock facade. But that’s where the effort at warm decoration ended.
The table service was attended by a sweet young professional waitress who was quick and responded with suggestions.
The black ceramic plates were very interesting and appreciated by my wife. The black flatware carried the theme even further.
There was fun and interesting activity designed to keep children busy. It was a rectangular stone bin with large flat white rocks that children could paint or draw on,
Other than that there was not hint of warmth engendering a romantic atmosphere.
Payment was excepted at the table. And instead of fortune cookies we were given two little oddly tasting candies.
Are we spoiled or what?… you decide.
We will be back for the food. The flavors were well paired, they served authentic rice noodles which were excitedly appreciated instead of spaghetti noodles we have sometimes been served in twin cites “Asian” establishments. Plating was appealing and hot. They didn’t have Asian tea, either oolong or jasmine. Well anyway the food was great!

When in first walked in I thought I was going to be disappointed. It was dark and minimalist but it turns out they were getting new flooring in the morning.
The food was surprisingly good! The spring rolls were phenomenal and I love the sauce. Their pad Thai was good. Spice level was perfect. I asked for medium and it was actually medium (enough to make your mouth feel hot but not so much that you’re nose is running). Portions were way more than I expected which made me happy. Although I felt like the flavor fell a touch flat, but overall it was good! I’d definitely go back there again. Quick service, clean table/ dinnerware, nice wait staff. Plus, the items with gluten are marked clearly on the menu. I was too nervous about the wonton soup having gluten. It said it didn’t, but it’s a dumpling so… Either way, my mom ordered it and it looked delicious. Very nice food presentation too.

Overall, Haven was not a bad visit. The service was excellent, the decore and atmosphere were ok, but the food was just average. I wanted to love Haven, but the awesome service was not enough to put it over the top and make me crave coming back. The mild for stir fry tofu was not spicy for the medium, and the curry was a bit too spicy. I wanted the egg rolls to be more Vietnamese like but had cabbage in them. I would recommend you try as perhaps your culinary experience may be better than ours.

I enjoyed eating at Haven, the food was good, the service was great, and I got to sit by a windowed area looking over a pond in the back. I ordered pork potstickers, which were deep fried instead of pan fried. Although the dipping sauce was good, the dumplings lacked some flavor and the filling was a little wet. It was also a little pricey for only 6 dumplings. I also ordered the Tofu Pad See Eew, which was solid. The tofu texture was perfect, spice was on point, and it had a subtle smoky wok flavor. The sauce was slightly too sweet for me. Sitting down, the service was extremely friendly and attentive, and the food came out extremely fast. Although the dumpling portion was small, the overall entree portions were generous.

Haven asian eatery is a restaurant that does everything well but is definitely not the best. The asian food served here is very americanized and doesn’t feel authentic. Having said that all dishes are prepped well and taste ok. Crying tiger dish and sai gok sausage are the two dishes I would recommend here. The location is gorgeous and the restuarant has a good view of the lake. The service is good as well.
If you’re ok with eating the popular dishes which are catered to every palette this would be a good restaurant to go to. However, if you’re looking for authentic asian cuisine I would go somewhere else.

I am blown away by the kindness, service and professionalism of this place. My two daughters and I were having a girls weekend. We ordered from here via grub hub. Our driver accidentally forgot one of our bags (it happens) which was 1/2 our meal. Being this was a fun girls night and special weekend; we were so bummed! I called Haven to see if the bag was still there, despite them being closed, a sweet gentleman answered. I asked if I could come by to pick it up. He not only said he had my order, but that he was going to DRIVE IT TO ME AND DELIVER IT HIMSELF! This was during a total snow storm! He texted me with updates. He came to my door so fast, I ran out in my snow boots with cash for a tip “Yelling, no wait!!” and jokingly “i love you!” as he refused to stop, he rolled down the window and said, “That’s ok! Have a good night!!”… Needless to say we were blown away by this kindness and his effort in going above and beyond! He made our night and really reminded us of the beautiful people in times like these. We are HAE customers for life!

I was a little bit disappointed in the food. I felt like everything was on the sweeter side. The crying tiger had a weird beef smell, the cream cheese was too sweet for my liking, the pork belly had no flavor and the sauce to go with it could have been better. The only thing I enjoyed out of everything I ordered was the spring roll combo meat!!!!! The sauce was so good!

For some reason I was expecting a dim sum type place. The inside looks like they started a remodel but aren’t sure on next steps. The wait staff was not rude, but I felt like I was inconveniencing by being there.
I had the pad pak with pork. It had a good flavor, but was pretty typical Americanized asian. Chicken lo mein was standard. The chicken fried rice had a smoky/burnt flavor which I did not care for. All in all I felt it was over priced for what I got.
