The ingredients were fresh, and the flavor of the curry was incredible.
Everyone should come and try it — highly recommended!
After a few minutes, a worker appeared and seated us. The waiter seemed young and still learning, but he was polite. When the food arrived, it completely changed the mood—the goat curry was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The garlic naan was a bit skimpy (only one piece per order). My daughter loved the chicken lollipops.
I don’t mind simple ambiance or average service as long as the food is great and the wait isn’t long. This place delivered on both, so I’ll definitely come back when I’m craving Indian food—though I might explore a few other spots too.
Noodles and Samosas were quite good. I was pleasantly surprised.
Food. It was okay. Nothing fascinating. I liked the pakora, salted lassi and masala chai. We were divided on everything else. My son and I liked the veg chowmein, rest of the family not. I did not like the chicken tikka masala, but the others found it okay. We ordered chicken biryani but they got us veg biriyani (even after confirming with us twice that it was chicken, as we ordered two chicken dishes), it was okay.
Ambience. The restaurant itself is not a real comfort zone. The colors don’t gel along well, and there’s a lot happening in the little nooks and corners. Gave me a sense of hoarder feeling. Sometimes, less is more; sometimes it is not. The hearts to celebrate Valentine’s were cut in construction paper and taped on, at random. I’d rather they did not put that at all.
Service. Great service. There were just two families, including us and the other was already at the end of their meal. Not sure if that helped, but they were attentive (except for messing up one order). They were courteous.
Time. Reasonable. Not a lot of wait, but then again there wasn’t much rush.
**As someone from Nepal, I’m no stranger to Indian and Nepali cuisine—but Namaste India in Edgewater still managed to blow me away.** I ordered through Grubhub and was genuinely impressed by how flavorful and authentic everything tasted. The curry & roti was rich and aromatic, and the paneer tikka masala had that perfect creamy-spicy balance I grew up loving.
Even through delivery, the food arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully packaged. It felt like a taste of home, elevated with thoughtful presentation and generous portions. You can tell they care deeply about quality and tradition.
If you’re looking for a place that truly honors the flavors of the subcontinent, Namaste India is it. I’ll definitely be ordering again—and recommending it to anyone who wants a mind-blowing meal without leaving their couch. #Nepali cuisine & Kolkata’s Park Street’s Machey jhol in addition would be just another perfect combination
Oh well am I mixing too much ? Lol
Definitely the best one !
So I was reading on Yelp and other Google reviews to try the chicken Momo’s. It takes about 20 minutes to make because they’re made by hand and done fresh. I think it was worth the wait, its like a dumpling but the inside is nicely packed with enough meat and herbs. Such a great gem hidden in Edgewater. If you’re in the area this is the place to go! They also have a lot of vegetarian options which is nice.
Its also BYOB! They gave us an ice bucket for our wine and uncorked it. The service is phenomenal and the waitress was so attentive. She clearly explained each dish that we had questions about and gave really good recommendations on what to eat. Coming back here again for sure!
