I used tap to pay my phone with an Amex card, as I had no idea this would be an issue. As soon as the lady behind the counter noticed that it was an Amex card, she started angrily slamming buttons on the machine and yelling at me that they do not take American Express. This transaction then went through, and I could see on my phone that I was charged. She then insisted I pay with a different card, and despite my questioning about being refunded on the Amex a few times, all she said to me is, “We don’t take Amex and I need to pay again”. Finally she hand me a receipt that indicated the previous transaction was voided and I paid with a different card.
Throughout the entire exchange, from the moment she noticed that I used an Amex card, she was extremely hostile and angry and was yelling at me. I will certainly not be giving this business my money again, and I recommend others do the same.
Please try it and you will see.
And Whoever in this review thread wrote that they were mad that they had on Fox News on in the dining room—get over yourself!!!
Stop being so sensitive! They have a right to put on what they want in their restaurant!
You’re there for the food! You shouldn’t be watching television anyway while you’re dining! You should be talking to your friend(s) or loved ones that you’re with! Learn proper dining manners!
It should be clear that listings like general Tso, crab rangoons (or cheese wontons), egg rolls or egg foo young etc DO NOT EXIST in China!
Unlike most eateries of this type of food that pervades America, this place:
1. has managed to keep the oil, sugar and salt in control .
2. has sauces other than soy-sauce based ones; the sauces tend to be thick and more savory .
3. has very reasonable prices, the lunch listings are less than $10.00.
BUT
1. the menu is a copycat of most chinese-style eateries in America and the West .
I wish that the cook is a little more inventive and create more original dishes that would set this place apart.
2. the food flavors lack authentic Chinese herbs and spices. There seems to be lack of utilization of oriental produce.
Some chives, scallions and Chinese celery for example would have made the difference to many of their dishes. Woodears and shiitake would have elevated the mixed vegetable sautés.
Service is very good.
The food was promptly prepared for pick up (15 mins) and included ample amounts of chicken (Kung pao) that did not contain fat or fillers. The egg roll was well cooked (not burnt or too soft).
I will definitely go there again.
