I’ve been here twice now and both visits were excellent. The service was fantastic. Our server, Andrew, was very attentive. The food came out quickly, hot, and genuinely delicious.
The atmosphere feels like stepping into a living time capsule. There’s history everywhere you look, a reminder of how many people have passed through while this place has stood the test of time.
The general manager, Brian, was kind and welcoming, and our whole group really enjoyed the experience. Nothing but good things to say. Highly recommend.
Easily a five star experience and one we’ll happily repeat.

We had the famous crawfish etoufee, the seafood fettuccini, and a chocolate old fashioned. The food was delicious! I did think the etoufee could’ve stood to be a little hotter, but service was prompt so I am sure it wasn’t sitting for too long. They made the chocolate old fashioned at the table, I loved it! New to Oregon and wanted to check this place out, from the pictures I didn’t realize it’s a pretty nice restaurant, I felt slightly underdressed. Maybe that’s why the server put us alone in the back. Would return!

We had 6pm reservations for Thanksgiving dinner here. We did not get seated until closer to 6:30. We were not informed on what the hold up was but I assume they overbooked or maybe didn’t calculate how long people would be sitting and dining. We have been here for Thanksgiving since my son was 6 months old and have never had this issue. When we arrived, there was a huge cluster of people at the hostess stand and I overheard them say they still hadn’t seated all of the 5:30 or 5:45 reservations. Maybe they were under staffed? We noticed several tables were empty but not cleaned yet. Once we were seated, service was great. The three of us ordered: calamari and crab article dip for our appetizers. Our entrees were: lobster tail, crawfish penne and sautéed Dungeness crab legs. I think Dan and Louis’s Oyster serve a much better calamari appetizer. The breading here just kept falling off and the calamari was not tender. The rest of the food was delicious. However, my 13 year thinks that Irish lobsters are better!

The most delicious food I have had in Oregon. The Tower Appetizers with baked brie, crab cakes and calamari what fantastic. The Cajun Chicken fettuccine what so yummy. The crab and shrimp stuffed salmon is a definite have too. And finally the Etouffe is to live for. Whenever you are in the area stop by. Financial tip, go to a late lunch so you get the delicious food at a more reasonable cost.

Pros:
Great ambiance & service.
The escargot & mashed potatoes were delicious.
Cons:
Salmon was overcooked. Etouffee was flavorless and had too much pepper. Calamari was rubbery. Crab tortellini was underwhelming. Specialty cocktails are wildly overpriced for the unimaginative drink variations that they are.
I haven’t been back to Jake’s in 10 years and I’ll probably wait another 10 to go back.

Food was absolutely delicious. It was Christmas day and they were swamped so getting our food took a while. Our server was fantastic, kept apologizing for the delays but we fully understood. She couldn’t have be kinder. First time we’ve been for dinner but have been for happy hour several times. Best happy hour in town!

A Portland institution that occupies the corner frontage a a city block.
From the outside the new is loud, yet inviting. Looking in through the broad glass windows reveals a bustling vibe. There are 3 different seating ambience. Bar Counter, Bar seating and Fine dining (think white tablecloths) if you want a more romantic feel.
The menu is 95% seafood. A fair amount of salmon and fish native to the pacific northwest… but there are surprises scattered throughout. A nod to creole with ettouffe. Escargot snuck in. Dover sole on the menu. And a healthy sprinkle of dungeness crab
Oysters were on point. Wine list was adequate the recommended dish was a little on the heavy side.
Will definitely return, but this time in the quieter section and will look for a simpler preparation of the fish.

If you love seafood, you’ll really enjoy this place. It’s clearly a popular spot in the area, so making a reservation is the best way to ensure you get a table. I ordered the crawfish penne, and it was a little spicy for me, but still very good. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. We tried escargot for the first time, and… probably for the last time (just not our thing!). Their dessert menu is also impressive. Next time we’re in Portland, this will definitely be on our list to revisit.
