The bast place in town for bagels.
If you like big salted carnival style pretzels, you’ll love their salted bagels! I get mine with roasted red pepper cream cheese. Delicious! Service can be a little slow mid-morning, but it’s worth the wait.

Little hole in the wall place, if it wasn’t for the BIG “Bagel One” sign, we would have driven right past it. Nice breakfast bagels with multiple choices. Bagel alone is Not filling, you have to order something on the side.

Easily the most affordable and delicious bagel and coffee place in the UConn area. Yeah, the place is a little dated, but that’s only because they’re focusing on the bagels. I recommend you try an egg and cheese on a bagel WITH cream cheese. Delicious.

I had a Very Large Order for a total of 13 people…They were AWESOME. I went in with a list and they had the order done Quickly! The Food was Delicious, the Order was on Point, as well as Provided Friendly Customer Service! On a side note, their Vegetable Cream Cheese was Amazing!!

Bagel? Dry and stale- almost like it had been sitting out for a week.

Tuna salad? Tasteless- like they had taken tuna from a can and slapped it onto my stale bagel. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich.

Coleslaw? Sour???? Unsure it was even safe to eat.

I used to love Bagel One. I am not sure what happened but I won’t be returning anytime soon.

If you’re tired of lame bagels, get over to Bagel One. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and it’s only gotten better. Staff always remembers usual orders, it feels like family when you walk in, and despite high demand they move through the line so quickly and reliably. Thanks for all the breakfasts over the years

The food is generally good. Bagels are made in house fresh daily.

The service is awful. It took almost 20 min for 2 toasted bagel sandwiches. Managers are never up front supervising what is going on.

The place is filthy and looks like it hasn’t been renovated since 1995.

Bagel One makes GREAT bagels. Unfortunately however, the cleanliness of the seating area is getting pretty poor. We had to clean the table in our seating area as it was pretty bad. Take a look at the pictures of the floor and the ceiling as well.

If the cleanliness in the seating area is declining, should we be concerned with the cleanliness behind the counter into the kitchen?

The service is also starting to slide. We ordered three bagel & egg sandwiches and two of the three were incorrect. We also had to step out of line once ordered but then had to hang around the line hoping to get some attention to get cups to use for coffee (they forgot). It was awkward since the line gets fairly long and no one likes to have someone distract the person taking the orders. I felt lots of eyes on me.

Its a small sample size (just us this morning) but it seems these are easily resolved without much cost or effort.

To be clear, I love this place and want it to stay and be successful. I think ownership needs to pay a bit more attention to simple things which would improve the perception. It already serves GREAT bagels. Now it’s just the aesthetics and training of the waitstaff. Go Bagel One!

Amending my post after many years of experiences here. The cleanliness of the restaurant has fallen far below reasonable standards. I have no idea how this place passes health inspection. The staff doesn’t seem to care about customer service. They like to leave the phone off the hook to avoid calls. The food remains pretty good but the conditions under which it’s made make me sick. I sadly won’t eat here anymore.

Original post: “Homemade bagels. Real eggs on their breakfast sandwiches. Just perfect!”

Great find for a quick breakfast after a night of watching the Perseides meteor shower at General Lyon Lean-to Park! The coffee was fresh & hot and complemented the wonderful Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Bagel Sandwich. The bagels were delicious and fresh. I’ll return for another breakfast in the future. Thanks!
