It is a real treat to find a family-run neighborhood restaurant led by a Top Chef finalist. Chef/Owner Tam, who placed 5th on Top Chef Vietnam (2014), brings 18-years of experience to this kitchen.
The food:
We ordered six dishes to share. Here were the standouts:
Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings ($14.25): Incredible value for an enormous serving. They arrived piping hot with crisp skin and savory seasoning.
Shrimp Spring Rolls ($7.99): A refreshing counterpoint to the fried wings. Packed with vibrant vegetables and fresh shrimp.
BBQ Cut Beef Ribs ($17.49): Korean-style ribs that were tender, juicy, and well-marinated.
Filet Mignon Pho ($16.75): A generous portion with plenty of rice noodles and rare beef. The broth was flavorful and aromatic without being oily or heavy.
Service and atmosphere:
The service is personable and welcoming. Special thanks to Rose and Chef Tam for sharing the history of the restaurant and their menu recommendations.
Overall:

Phoa and spring rolls were absolutely amazing!! Flavor was delicious and the peanut sauce was on point. The “Salt and Pepper” Wings were disappointing, they looked like they had been sitting out for hours and then warmed up in the microwave. I’m used to having wings hot and crispy, however, these were soggy and cold, so I would not recommend ordering these.
I also liked that they were able to substitute the phoa noodles for egg noodles.
Overall, we would definitely come back, but stick to the phoa.

The pho broth is really good! It tastes authentic. The egg rolls were okay and the salt and pepper chicken wings were crunchy but lacked the salt and pepper flavor to me. All in all a satisfying meal. Parking is easy and you get a 10% discount paying with cash.

I got the beef sandwich and it was one of the best I’ve had at a Vietnamese place – really perfect… begin a Saturday I was worried the bread would be a day old but for sure fresh within a few hours – loaded with good stuff rather than sparsely sprinkled inside like some places.

The best Pho restaurant in San Diego. My husband and I finally found the best Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego after 10 years of searching. The owner of restaurant was a chef of a 5 star hotel in Viet Nam and truly has a passion for what he does.

Great broth on the Pho Special which had everything in it. Regular size was filling enough. Also had the Fresh Spring Rolls with Pork. The pork was Smokey flavor and really good! Will try that again in the Beef Spring rolls. Didn’t have the best service no extra water and slow getting the bill or ask how we were doing. That’s ok the food was good!

Delicious deluxe mom pho. While at work, I decided to stop in here for a quick bite. The service was fast, and the beef pho was a good size and flavor. I frequently visit pho places, but this is the only one I have had with excellent meatballs. The rib was tender, and it was a good portion. My coworker had the R7 special rice dish. The broth needed some spicing but was great with chili and hoisin sauce. The Thai tea with boba was flavorful, and the boba could not have had a better texture. I was super impressed with this spot.
