The pulled pork and pulled chicken were excellent. The turkey was a bit dry. Cole slaw was good and so were the beans. 33 bucks for 3 meats and 2 sides. Nice dining area several beers to chose from.

Some friends and I dropped by Central BBQ for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too crowded. Food came out within 10 mins of ordering. Excellent customer service, friendly and randomly walk by your table to see if you need anything or take up plates that you’re done with. I had a jumbo pulled pork sandwich with fries. It was all really good. Also love the tie dyed plastic drink cups. They offer some really cool shirts for purchase. Definitely recommend, will return soon!

I came to Central BBQ Midtown excited to try what’s supposed to be “true Memphis BBQ” — this place came highly recommended, so my expectations were high. I ordered a pound of pulled pork to really get the full experience, and… honestly, it was underwhelming. The pork was more like steamed meat than smoked BBQ, very bland, and with almost no bark. There’s no way you could “let the smoke and meat speak” here — it barely whispered.
And it cost $18. Eighteen dollars! For something I could easily make better in my own backyard. I left feeling disappointed and a little baffled. Maybe my BBQ really is that good… or maybe this place just missed the mark. $18 for steamed pork!!

Central BBQ was by far some of the best barbecue I’ve had in my life. The brisket, mac & cheese, beans, fries, and baked potatoes are phenomenal. Their spicy and vinegar sauce complement the menu well. We didn’t get dessert, but they looked delicious too.

I haven’t been to Central BBQ in 12-15 years so they have remodeled or made changes since I was last there but that delicious Memphis style BBQ flavor hasn’t changed. I brought my family there for lunch on a holiday and they know how to handle the crowds. We were quickly through the line and our meals came out just as ordered. This group does BBQ right, that was some good food.

Their ribs were amazing and off the bone. I tried another place’s ribs and was so disappointed, so I was a bit skeptical at first for central bbq, but ribs here were so good.

Probably some of the most disappointing BBQ I’ve ever had. The brisket was overcooked, dry no bark, no flavor. Pulled pork was over cooked. The turkey was just ok. Go somewhere else!

Love the renovated restaurant! Stopped here to grab lunch one day a few weeks ago with my daughter. We were excited to try the new restaurant. The old one was great and we were looking forward to this one.
The menu is HUGE!! I had the spud with smoked chicken and three smoked salmon wings. My daughter had the chicken nachos and said they were great. The baked potato was awesome and the wings were good as well.

My go to spot when I visit for work. Central’s the best! You can’t go wrong ordering the nachos with any of the meats.

I had a pulled pork sandwich. It was very moist and the meat tender. The chips have lots of dry barbecue seasoning of some sort on them, neither my kids nor I cared for it. It got very crowded while we were there. They were out of peanut butter pie. Bummer! I ordered a piece of chocolate cake. The piece of cake was massive, but lacked flavor. My kids had mac and cheese and while I didn’t taste it, it was very dry looking. I prefer mac and cheese that has some saucy quality to it. There were plenty of bathrooms that were clean. They have big tables to seat larger groups of 6-8. Overall, I would eat the pull pork again. It was good.
