Went when the line was almost out the door and was seated and ate in about 10 mins. Food comes out quick and is very good. Have gone twice and the food was consistent each time. Pork plates are delicious and chewy. Delicious deserts as well.

It’s a tradition. Family run, and iconic to the area. Famous for their *tasty* Western style Carolina BBQ, made with pork shoulders and cooked slow over wooden coals. Super casual dining, family oriented. Very reasonable pricing.

When in Lexington you have to get the well known BBQ. Known for vinegar and tomato base Lexington BBQ is delicious. The coarse chopped plate with brown bits was piled high with moist,fall apart meat speckled with crispy brown bits. The coleslaw also had some tomato mixed in the recipe. It was light and not as tangy as vinegar style. It worked well with the pork. The fries were basic and not what I was there to enjoy. The hushpuppies were perfectly fried and soft on the inside with a slight onion flavor. I could have eaten the whole basket.
It is always busy and they even will take a to go order from your car. The food comes out quickly and the wait doesn’t last long.
I can see why it was voted the best NC BBQ by Southern Living.

Great service, the nicest people, but the fried food and beans were the only thing I enjoyed eating. NC BBQ & slaw & vinegar based sauce is unique and unlike what you’ll find if you head west. I don’t know if this is the usual but the pork lacked any smoke or flavor and wasn’t hot when it was delivered. Tasted boiled? I prefer TN and TX BBQ far better but this place was packed out the door so it’s obvious this establishment’s style of food is well loved here and has much demand. Happy dining!

Probably the best and most consistent Lexington style bbq. The pork is always moist with a delicious flavor. Great customer service and staff. Don’t forget to get some dip on the side. Always busy, but never a long wait.

Very busy on a Saturday, went with the drive up service, outstanding! Will have to come back during a weekday to check out the inside. From Wake County and heard this BBQ joint has some tasty burgers, they were not lying! Very tasty double cheese burger in deed!! Grabbed some BBQ, slaw and hush puppies (they are awesome) for some back home. Get a chance stop by not a bad drive from Wake county.

If I could give negative stars for service, I would. The server was abrupt and overwhelmed at best. She seemed very rushed and agitated that we asked questions about the items on the menu. It was our first visit there, so it doesn’t seem like questions would be such a bother. When the food came, I was surprised at the appearance. I asked for sauce, and she let me know it was already on it. I understood then that the vinegar dip that the meat was soaking in was the “sauce.” She offered more and said they keep cups of it out for those who need more. I didn’t need any more liquid on the paper plate that was very flimsy due to the amount of juice aka “sauce” on it. The food was becoming one with the plate as it soaked up the juice. The meat was gray which showed apparent signs of not being fresh at all. Pickles were on top of the slaw which was also soaking in the juice. The so-called rolls were actually hamburger buns. Do not ask any more questions though! The waitress acted like I said something bad about her first born. Alternate order placed – salad with NO onions. Another lady brought it. Before it even touched the table, my friend said oh no, that’s not what was ordered. It was covered in chunks of onions! I get it that mistakes can be made. They just all happened at our table. My friend’s hamburger chuckwagon was NOT cooked all the way! Red inside! Eww. He just pushed his plate aside. The waitress did not ask if something was wrong … just took the plate. We left hungry and disappointed in the service. The waitress must have been overwhelmed and needed a break.

Amazing bbq, and service, every time I stop here the food is great and service is always amazing. Food comes out fresh and hot, all the waitresses I’ve dealt with were amazing, keeps your drink cup filled up and checks in regularly to see if you need anything.
