This quaint little restaurant was truly a surprise find. I was extremely skeptical, as to the number of reviews and that it’s in the middle of nowhere, as most aren’t that good. The owner was very nice, though the food was a little slow, but it’s justified since there was only the owner, AND it’s all home cooked. First was the corned beef smoked sandwich, and it was very good. The meat was well prepared, and the bread was toasted nice and added to the overall taste. The restaurant allows ordering any dish (including breakfast dishes) all throughout the day. So I got the breakfast sandwich. It was two over hard (?) eggs with sausage and pepper jack, and it was so tasty. The sausage was well cooked, the eggs weren’t overdone. Very delicious. And finally was the grand breakfast with eggs, potatoes, toast, and gravy. Similar to the breakfast sandwich, it was all masterfully cooked.
10/10, I’d definitely recommend!

We stopped in on our way to a wedding in the northwest suburbs. Cute little place, only 3 tables and 4 bar seats. I had the bacon cheeseburger and my husband had the smoked, whole-hog pork sandwich with Cheryl’s homemade spicy BBQ sauce. Both were delicious. Unfortunately, we were both too full to try any of her homemade desserts. Prices were very reasonable. Lots of local farmers were calling in carryout orders to take back to the fields, and that’s always a good sign. A great little find!

We had a very nice dinner. Food was homemade and definitely unique flavor profiles. I had prime rib, baked beans, and coleslaw. Wife had pork chops, potatoes, and corn. Baby girl had grill cheese and fries. We were all happy with the food and service. I will say it was perfect for our small family but not big enough for a large party.

We love to eat here! Food and service is always 10/10. Cheryl is always cooking up something delicious from breakfast to dinner to homemade desserts. With our options being limited in Herscher, we are SO happy to have this restaurant nearby for some delicious and fresh food.

I had the bacon cheeseburger, was very good. Doug had the breakfast tacos and said he would have it again. Service is slow because there is only one person cooking the food and is also the waitress.

Cheryl singlehandedly puts together these great home cooked meals. Off the beaten path for most of us but worth the drive.
