Mueller’s Lower Deck is in a terrific spot right on the main bay in Hobart, with both indoor and outdoor seating that lets you make the most of the waterfront atmosphere. It’s an easy place to settle in, especially on a clear day when the harbour is looking its best.

The food was very good — fresh, well presented and enjoyable. It wasn’t the best seafood we’ve ever had, but it was certainly very nice and we left satisfied. The menu is solid and suits the location.

One small frustration was that the QR code system for ordering drinks wasn’t working. To be fair, staff acknowledged it was an issue with their system, so it wasn’t just us. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it did slow things down slightly.

It would also be great to see an option to have the fish pan-fried rather than only battered or crumbed. A lighter preparation choice would add a bit more flexibility to the menu.

Overall, a very pleasant waterfront dining experience in a prime Hobart location. We’d happily return.

Mures Lower Deck absolutely delivered! Everything we tried was amazing from start to finish. The Fish & Chips were perfectly cooked — crispy, golden batter on the outside with fresh, flaky fish inside, and the chips were hot and well-seasoned. The Mures Fish Cake was full of flavor, beautifully textured, and tasted fresh and comforting at the same time.

For dessert, the Passion Fruit Ice Cream was a standout — refreshing, tangy, and not overly sweet, making it the perfect palate cleanser. The Mures Waffles were warm, fluffy, and indulgent, a great way to end the meal.

Overall, fantastic food, great quality, and a really enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely late lunch here. We were made to feel bery welcome, asking about our flight and telling us about the local wine featival and Salamance Markets. The food was delicious. We had the standard seafood platter which was plenty for two
two.

Great spot in Hobart!
Lovely staff and excellent service, honestly couldn’t fault them. The fish and chips were okay, not the best I’ve had but still enjoyable. Prices are a bit higher compared to other local shops, but the overall experience and location made the visit worthwhile.

They provided various seafood dishes including sushi, fish and chips, gilled seafood and ice cream etc. The dining area was huge. The food quality was fresh and affordable. Highly recommended the fish chowder!

We recently dined at Mures Restaurant and had a genuinely positive experience. We ordered the mussels and the grilled snapper with chips and salad — both dishes were generous in portion size and delivered solid value. While the pricing sits on the higher end, the quality of the seafood makes it worthwhile, especially considering the fresh flavours and well-executed cooking.

The location is fantastic, offering a relaxed coastal vibe that enhances the overall experience. The ambience inside the restaurant could be elevated a little to match the quality of the food and the beautiful setting, but it didn’t take away from our enjoyment.

Overall, great service, delicious seafood, and a memorable visit. We’ll definitely be back.

Crowded at 5:30pm. Have to wait quite some time for food to be served after ordering at the counter. Crew are working diligently to serve food and to clean tables to cope with the crowd. Drinks can be ordered at beverage counter and be served right away. Quality of seafood is fresh. Portion is big.

VERY popular fish and chip restaurant and takeaway and rightly so! Bit of a wait which was helped by the midday beersies but was worth it. Delish!! Suggest requesting a higher specialty fish rather than the ‘go/to’ it was a bit like NZ hoki.
Highly recommend a visit if you are on the Hobart waterfront
