Passing through San Antonio and looking for a quick stop for good food to find this little spot with few but good reviews. They were telling the truth because this place is legit!!! The area is a very nice square off of part of the river walk with multiple restaurants, grassy areas for kids and dogs, and well kept grounds. Casanova BBQ is tucked in this perfect location with plenty of outdoor seating and clean bathrooms just a few steps away. The service was fantastic and she answered all of our questions about sizing/cuts of brisket we wanted. We ended up getting the 1/2lb of brisket both lean and fattier cuts, the half rack of pork ribs, and a side of creamed corn. The ribs were incredible, seasoned perfectly, light smoke flavor, and insanely soft. The brisket was amazing too with great flavor and super moist!! The creamed corn came out nice and hot, it was seasoned well and very creamy. Would 10/10 recommend and come back when we pass through.

After reading the reviews my wife and I decided to come to Casanova for dinner. We loved the outdoor dining and the food was really good! We ordered the Loaded tater tots, pork ribs and charo beans. The ribs were tender, perfectly seasoned and not too smoky. The brisket in the tater tots was delicious as well. The charo beans were well seasoned (the sauce the beans were in was a little watery but thats being super picky). We also got two daiquiris that were fantastic! The only negative thing I can say is the service was good, but not very friendly. It really lacked southern hospitality you are used to with southern barbecue joints. We sat at the round cook station and the staff barely talked to us and most of the time had their backs turned to us. But as long as you cook good food at a reasonable price, that’s all that matters!

The Brisket melts in your mouth, the barbecue sauce is sweet with a little kick. The ribs were amazing. Meat fell off the bone when you take a bite. Perfectly cooked.

Food is fantastic! We had the Brisket Queso Loaded Tater Tots – absolutely insane, 100/10. Recommend going on the weekends while there is live music from artists playing the farmers market, just an all around great experience!

Owner does not treat his employees with respect. I’m sitting in the Pearl and just heard him cuss out a guy. If people aren’t meeting your expectations, there are better ways to proceed: manage your anger, learn how to be a transformational leader, let them go, or at least pull them aside in private if a berating is warranted. The way you treat your employees and the way you present yourself are also a reflection of your business.

Very good Q… wasn’t sure what to expect but definitely a top bbq spot for me. This place is a little pricy wish it wasn’t that pricy, if it was more reasonable it would be 5 stars $16 dollars for a BBq sandwich is a lot imo. They got a BBQ Brisket chili dog that is good.
