Had a great time there our server. Elizabeth was a delight to speak with and she was efficient. Both the food was really good and they have an excellent variety. The menu has a variety of cultural foods.

Stopped in here for dinner at the recommendation from John at the Best Western down the street. So glad we did. Everyone’s food was great. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and fries. Massive menu. Great service and a full front and back dessert menu. If you go to eat here, you won’t be disappointed.

To the gentleman from New York, who paid for our meal, thank you for your generous blessing and the conversation. We were overwhelmed by your gift. God bless you mightily!

I was really excited to find a “real diner” in the south. The menu is EXTENSIVE and it took me a bit to determine what I wanted. I finally decided on the buffalo chicken wrap and fries. It was delicious! My husband had blueberry pancakes, bacon, and coffee. He was very pleased with his meal as well. We took home two pieces of the biggest cake I’ve ever seen and can’t wait to try them. We were too full after our generous meal to eat dessert. Northerners who know good diner food will definitely appreciate the menu and food. We highly recommend eating here and intend to make the hour and a quarter trip on occasion just to eat here.

Very impressed! We had roasted half chicken that had a nice crisp on the outside with a tender and moist inside. I had the greenbeans and they were different than any I have ever tasted and were delicious! The waiter was excellent and checked on us often. I don’t usually give a restaurant 5 stars, but these folks deserve it. We will definitely be back!

We were in town for a wedding, and the morning of not much was open yet but thankfully City Cafe Diner was. And let me say… They did not disappoint! The service was fabulous, the restaurant super clean and nostalgic in the most positive way. The food was just as good! I had the chicken fried steak with fried eggs, my wife the Belgian waffles . Side note they even made our fried eggs to order and correctly. It appears the mediocrity of today has not infiltrated this restaurant. If you’re in town and need a meal Cafe City Diner is a fabulous choice.

Below this update is my review from our previous visit. Look at the difference two years made even in the pictures.

I raved about this place and have been anticipating our return two years later. Broke my heart that the Greek food has taken a drop in quality. I’m Greek, and whoever was cooking did a horrible job on my plate. The gyro meat was burnt, the grilled steak and chicken were dry and tough, tzaziki was bland, and the spanikopita was not fresh. I was shocked and looked at my photo from the last visit and could see the difference.

My wife tried the chicken pot pie and was pleased. The crust was a little overcooked, but not an issue. All the teenagers with us liked their food as well. One got the gyro plate and noted it wasn’t as good as what we get at home.

Honestly, the Greek food reminded me of items bought at the state fair from a food truck. I pray that in two years, things will return to the past.

OLD REVIEW
It has been years since we had the opportunity to eat in a diner and what a treat we were about to have. The menu was impressive and full of options for anyone. You could eat here every day for a month and choose something different each time. The décor and cleanliness were in order as we entered. They were busy but that did not delay our prompt seating and service.

The sweet tea was delicious, and we enjoyed the bread appetizer while we decided. Everyone found something they wanted but I was in for a super treat. I am Greek and had no idea that I would see a menu with several Greek items available. My choice was the Greek Combination Platter, and it was outstanding. The portions were huge and at such a great price that I understood why it was so busy for a Monday evening. This meal would be easily sharable for a couple and the feta cheese was flavorful.

I had no room for dessert, but the wall of treats was too much for my girls to avoid. They decided to share a piece of Baklava Cheesecake and bragged about how good it was. I think I gained ten pounds just looking at the display and will stop again when in the area.

The ownership has done a great job in executing their vision and I wish them many years of success. The menu was diversified for many tastes yet classically designed for the diner-lover inside each one of us.
OPA!!!

One of my older sons and myself were in town for an event at Lee University and ate there on Friday night. We loved the food, the atmosphere, workers, etc and even went back later that night for cheesecake.

We are here for breakfast once a month. It’s convenient, the food is good and the service is always great. They really specialize in desserts and cakes.

Huge menu, but hard to find what is worth the price. Burger seemed to be premade frozen burger with no taste. Fries were good. $2 upcharge for onion rings as a side only to get 4 onion rings! Service was good. Just don’t think for $15 a plate this is the place where one would want to go as it lacked freshness. I can’t recommend and that is too bad as I was expecting more from this local diner.

This was a great spot for us to stop on our trip.
We arrived at a time when it wasn’t busy, but I could see how parking may be an issue if it was…

Food and service were great; large selection of options!

Restrooms were clean and provided a changing table.

Greek food was at a great price point
(My husband and I shared)
And the red velvet cake was delicious and definitely sharing size portions!

Would highly recommend and return!
