Robust Alsace-style fare in a half-timbered, 15th-century building filled with art.

Really appreciate the restaurant staff’s approachable and service-oriented attitude.
Place was packed yet the staff was welcoming and prompt to find a table for our group. Willing to explain the menu offerings. Food quality and portions are good. Loved the atmosphere and even the washrooms are clean and with nice decor. Diners of different age group. Pet friendly. Highly recommended.

We had flambes and spätzle with bacon. Flambes were not crispy at all, it was softened and one of the worst ones we have tried in the region. Spätzle was fine, nothing wow but fine. The portion was really satisfying and it came with a salad. Also we waited like 20 minutes to order, but orders came fast. It was a mid experience overall, the place is cute though

Nice restaurant with cozy ambience. It’s somewhat crowded and pricey as being in the very heart of touristic Colmar. Service is ok, food is quite good. We couldn’t understand exactly the menu and ordered a dish thinking it as a fondue, but came out different. Anyhow, it was delicious but was a bit heavy and a huge portion. Generally we satisfied.

A delightful restaurant in every way. We were a group of four, and we dined here two nights in a row for dinner. The food was incredible! Great local meals cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. You can’t ask for more than that. First night we dined outside and the second night inside due to the overwhelming smokers. The service was fast (for a large busy restaurant) and super friendly. Both dinners were memorable for both the food and service.

Nice restaurant, the food was delicious.
Beautiful historical byilding, so typical!
Little low. Forgot part of our drinks order, despite not being busy as we had an early lunch. They were prompt to fix that.

We had dinner at Le Fer Rouge yesterday evening. The atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant is clearly very popular, so booking a table in advance is definitely recommended. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent. For our taste (we are Hungarian), the food was a little milder than we expected, and overall we had hoped for a bit more in terms of flavors. Still, it was a pleasant experience and we appreciated the warm hospitality.

Very nice location to take a break from exploring Colmar. We sat outdoors as it’s a beautiful weather and to enjoy the surroundings. The service is very good, and happy with the dishes; its made the way they should taste. The sorbet was exceptional though.

Le Fer Rouge delivers a fantastic experience for anyone craving traditional Alsatian cuisine. The food is absolutely top-notch — hearty, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, with all the regional classics done right. Service is friendly and attentive, adding to the warm, inviting atmosphere. Prices are what you’d expect in a popular tourist spot, but well justified by the quality. A must-visit for a true taste of Alsace.

Fleischnakas should be quite spicy to compensate for the fact that the meat is rolled in pasta. The dish we got tasted of nothing – and there was quite a bit more pasta than meat. It tasted exactly as exciting as it (doesn’t) look. And the price for a glass of wine is simply too high.

He had a lovely family lunch here. The waitress was nice and spoke English. Very nice menu with children options as well. The food is more German. He had two salads, pork knuckle, desert, and kids menu (tagliatelle with salmon). Everything was delicious and tasty! Nice and cozy interior of the restaurant. Usually is quite busy place.
