Took my friend here for his birthday and we had an incredible tasting menu. Our hostess and server Yoko was excellent and the chef was also friendly.

The tasting menu was limited but brilliantly curated, with remarkably creative items and well attended presentation. They really take care and pride here in what they serve, and it showed on the plate and with each memorable bite.

MAINE UNI & CANADIAN SABLE FISH TAMAMUSHI – superb start to our meal, the uni was fresh and heavenly

SEARED JAPANESE WAGYU W/ TRUFFLE SHOYU – scrumptious steak with incredible well placed accents

OTSUKURI (SASHIMI) – some of the freshest fish I have ever had

SPANISH OCTOPUS AGEDASHI – enjoyed this, just not as much as the other dishes

CHAR BROILED NZL LAMB CHOP “HOBA-YAKI” W/FOIE GRAS MISO – superb flavor, robust dish

KANI SHINJO (JAPANESE STYLE CRAB CAKE) & MATSUTAKE MUSHROOM NOODLE SOUP – delicate but memorable soup flavor, another great combination of ingredients

HOUSE MADE MISO-CHESTNUTS ICE-CREAM – simple but strong finish to the dining experience

Loved the sake we chose, great accompaniment to this epic tasting menu.

Highly recommended. Look forward to returning.

Fantastic dining experience. Interior is intimate and peaceful. Each dish is prepared with great thoughtfulness and care and a delight in taste and presentation. Highlights were the wagyu beef and cod. They even accommodated a shellfish allergy upon request. Very happy with the experience and hope to come back again soon.

We had a wonderful dinner for my husband’s birthday. Very fresh ingredients and an interesting menu. Our server helped me find and try a couple of different types of sake that I liked.

This review is skewed since the chef was by himself and had to be the waiter while being the chef as well so there service got dragged out by a lot.
Really disappointed in the sashimi and udon course. How is it that my friend and I are both paying $120pp but we have to share a sashimi platter? That makes no sense. And how do you give 3 pieces of each fish instead of an even number?
I also noticed that a lot of people were using the American Express Platinum Resy credit but the chef didn’t know how to split payments. Even if his manager is on hand usually to take care of things like this, he should know stuff like this.

best dining experience i’ve ever had. was full by the end, it was a well rounded meal with different types of vegetables, meats, and fish. everything was delicious and either rich and hearty or flavorful and refreshing. service was also phenomenal, the waitress was super sweet, attentive. and it’s a super intimate restaurant, you can only reserve in groups of two i believe.

Hidden and private, you need reservations, food refreshed everyday and chosen by chef. Seven cuisines really full, good sake too!

Very intimate setting, great for an impressive date night. Hard to get reservations due to only having 3 tables. But totally worth it for the amazing top tier fine dining experience. The chef explained each dish personally and gave recommendations on how to eat it. Was truly the best dining experience I’ve had. Every dish out did the last. The sashimi plate and ox tail soup a were stand outs. However the menu varies by day.

We were really looking forward to returning to Nasime after five years, but sadly, this visit was a major letdown. At $110 per person for the omakase and $75 for the sake pairing, we expected a polished and memorable dining experience — but it missed the mark on several fronts.

The chef seemed disengaged throughout the meal, which was surprising given the intimate setting. His uniform was visibly stained, and the kitchen didn’t appear as clean or orderly as we remembered or expected at this price point.

The biggest disappointment came with the sashimi course. We were given a single shared platter — and each type of fish had only three pieces, so we had to awkwardly split the third piece between the two of us. For an omakase of this caliber, individual plating should be a given. To make matters worse, some of the cuts were gristly and unpleasant in texture — a far cry from the clean, delicate sashimi we’d hoped for.

All in all, it felt like the attention to detail and care that once defined Nasime has faded. For the cost, we expected more — in food quality, presentation, and hospitality.

Yet another phenomenal special birthday enjoyed with Nasime. There is always such beauty in the dishes that look so simple yet taste quite complex. Chef Shimomura and his delightful partner are truly welcoming and serve up perfect dish after perfect dish with kindness. Seven incredible courses for $95 per person plus reasonably priced drinks is a marvelous deal. I always walk out of Nasime feeling both satisfied and full of gratitude.

One of the best restaurants in the DMV! The menu is seasonal and tends to be seafood inspired. So if you’re not a seafood person I would recommend checking the menu before coming.

The five course meal is to die for. We had a Wagyu truffle and a fried octopus that delivered tons of flavor. This place is perfect for special occasions or if you’re trying to really impress. Highly recommend it.
