First impressions: the inside is clean and well kept. No complaints there.
Food-wise, we ordered a mix. I had the Vietnamese spicy noodle soup, my wife ordered chicken pho, and my daughter went with the shrimp spring rolls. My kid liked the spring rolls overall, but mentioned the shrimp was drier than she prefers. My wife’s pho was pretty much exactly as expected—solid, no surprises.
My soup was a mixed bag. The broth itself was flavorful and honestly didn’t need anything added to taste good, which I appreciate. It was loaded with different meats, and while that gave it depth, it also gave off a smell that wasn’t my favorite. That said, the bloodcake in the soup was a surprise hit—both my wife and daughter tried it and agreed it tasted good. Flavor definitely wasn’t the issue.
Here’s where things start to slide for us: the price. Paying $19 for a bowl of soup that would typically be $12–$13 at other local spots is a tough sell. The food was good, and I’d eat it again in isolation, but not at that price point. That alone makes it hard for us to justify returning.
Service was another letdown. After our food was dropped off, no one checked on us again—no drink refills, no follow-up, nothing. The entire staff also seemed pretty drained and low-energy. It might just be new-restaurant growing pains, but the overall vibe wasn’t great.
All that said, I don’t think this is a bad place. The food has flavor, the space is clean, and there’s potential here. For us, though, the pricing and the overall energy make this a 3-star experience. I’d still encourage people in the area to try it and decide for themselves—hopefully things improve as they settle in.
