This is the Cutest little Thai restaurant in Mar Vista. It’s on Venice blvd where a lot of bars are near by walking distance. The restaurant vibe is so cute and old school. I highly recommend for a casual date night. The owner/server is soooo sweet and nice. He’s the best part of the experience! Food is good and the price is super reasonable! Portions are so generous. Great overall.

I’m perplexed… I ordered sweet and sour pork (supposedly with pineapple and onion) but I don’t think I’ve gotten any pork so far and definitely not any pineapple! Just lots of zucchini and bell peppers, which makes my mouth oh so sad every time I take a bite. They do a great job of packaging it at least… foil layer plus holes in the container so that the deep fried not-pork stays crispy, plus the sauce in a separate container. (There was more in there before I took the pic.) I also got the spinach and tofu in peanut sauce. It’s good, just be aware that the sauce is quite soupy! I made a total mess when I opened it, thinking it was a thicker sauce. I guess I’ll go finish my deep-fried sweet and sour zucchini now.

So at first I was going to be a Karen because the to-go containers looked a little small, but once I tasted the food I felt all of the “let me speak to the manager” leaving my body. Let me tell you that the flavors here are so on point I will definitely be coming back. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Not only was the food delicious but they really jam packed the containers with food . Once I got in there I realized how densely the food was packed. The containers just gave the impression of small portions. I got spicy yellow curry with chicken and spicy shrimp fried rice. Both were really good. My only complaint would be that there wasn’t more broth in the curry. I’m sure the bowls for dine-in holds more liquid. I haven’t tried the pad thai or pad soon wen but those are next on the list!

Loved this place. Ordered a combination plate which has a soup, starter, salad, pad thai with steamed rice, and choice of an entree. Thai iced tea is also very good. I would recommend this to everyone. Service is fast and the food is delicious.

The moment I stepped in I know I’m in an authentic Thai place. The roast duck fried rice is awesome!

Very good thai food. I love their chicken pad thai and beef pad see ew. The restaurant is small but intimate. I like looking at their fish tank. The quality of their food is great when you dine in and also take out. The last time I ordered take out they went above and beyond. I forgot to ask for the spicy green chiles in that vinegar on the side when I placed my order. When I went to pick up my food, it was like they read my mind and the lady said she included the chiles inside the takeout bag on top – without me even having to ask. She had remembered that I asked for it the previous time I ordered takeout. Wow. I am impressed. I appreciate small businesses that remember the small details. Thank you!!

We used to love House of Thai Taste and picked up food there for many years. We stopped going before the Pandemic because the place was very dirty one day.
We just went back after a few years and the place is super clean, but sadly, the food has gone downhill so much we won’t be back.
The service is very nice and they are fast. They will get your order right the first time. Parking is easy in their lot or on the street.
Their prices have gone up, which I understand, but for what we ordered I could have gone to a better place.
The food was just not up to par. The Pai Thai had no peanuts in it at all. It was bland and the noodles were over cooked. The Shrimp and vegetable tempura was not eatable. It clearly was not cooked to order. It was soggy and the taste was just not there. It was soft and just not good. The rice was dry.
The curry and dumplings were good, and that is why I am giving them 3 stars because a couple of items were good. The curry was filled with flavor and spicy as we requested. The dumplings were also pretty good. We also had egg rolls and they were fine.
We were disappointed over all and won’t be back, we can’t afford to toss food in the trash, but two of the dishes were good, so maybe you will have better luck.

It was pleasant until a L.A. City Firefighter unit showed up; then it was very noisy. And the bill was really high. Other places we go, it runs about $60; here it was over $105. It will be awhile before we come back!

Wow! If I could give 10 stars to this restaurant, I would have.
It has delicious dishes, we had the Tom Yum chicken soup, veggie egg rolls and drunken noodles, veggies are finally cooked appropriately, the other Thai places we went in LA always serves to fast with hard vegetables. This one is very patient, such a nice and great service. Will definitely come back here. Prices are so good too, thank you Thai Taste!
