Hands down, these are the best pastries I’ve ever had. So buttery, so flavorful you can truly taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. The chef pours her heart into each creation, and it shows.

I make it a point to visit every weekend. Sometimes they’re sold out, but most of the time, I manage to sneak in and grab one or two desserts. Everything I’ve tried has been outstanding.

They also offer some delicious savory options. Over the past few weeks, I’ve tried the Street Corn Croisstata and the Potato & Herb Croisstata both were amazing.

My weekly trip to Cotton-Top Pastries is something I look forward to all week. One of my absolute favorites is the Canelé de Bordeaux. It’s so good that I treat myself to one every week though it’s hard to resist getting more!

The cruffins, a delightful mix between a croissant and a muffin, are also fantastic. They have a variety of other treats like cookies, biscuits, financiers, scones, pie bars, and quiche by the slice.

The menu changes weekly and is posted a few days in advance on their official Instagram stories. It’s always exciting to see what’s new.

Tucked away in historic Reeder’s Alley, the bakery adds so much charm to the experience. It truly deserves all the love it gets from Helena locals and anyone visiting the area.

You can grab a pastry and then head just behind the shop into the alley there are benches, little nooks, and corners where you can sit and enjoy your treat.

It was a bit unexpected to find a bakery of this quality in Helena. Cotton-Top Pastries offers an array of eclectic pastries in a house at the front of Reeder’s Alley. You will find items like croissants and cruffins in seasonal flavors here. Given the limited hours as they are only open on Friday and Saturday morning, I would recommend going early for the best selection.

If you’re around while they are open on Friday or Saturday mornings, I highly recommend this little bakery shop. The place smells wonderful – and everything I’ve had from them has not disappointed one bit!
Their Raspberry Nutella Coisstata was 12/10. We will most definitely be back!

“Criminally good “ as one of us said after trying the vanilla cruffin. We also had a berry bar and jalapeño cheddar butter biscuit. This place is not to be missed if you’re anywhere near Helena when it’s open!

If you happen to be in Helena of a Friday or Saturday morning this small shop is worth a stop. Ok. Even if you happen to be passing NEAR Helena you on either of those mornings it is open it is worth a detour. We tried savory (quiche and ham and cheese croissant) and sweet (various) and were not disappointed in any of it. Pure French pastry goodness as only a talented professional can do.

Holyyy can’t believe I never made it down here, we thought the hype would die off and it never did! For good reason! Got there before opening and there was already a line, friendly and cute little building with lots of goodies. So far we had the savory crostini and croissant and are saving the rest for later. 10/10 highly recommend! Love the little pear tree and matching pear stained glass in the window.

I heard about this place from someone at work, and I am so glad that I followed up on her suggestion to visit. My wife and I tried four different pastries on offer: the cruffins, carrot cake, scones, and a honey-butter biscuit. Everything was perfect and delicious, especially the cruffins. The prices are most likely higher than what you’re used to seeing elsewhere, but I guarantee the quality and taste is well worth it. I will absolutely be coming back, and I will be telling everyone I know to check it out. Please go, you will not be dissapointed!

I didn’t take any pictures of our pastries because we inhaled them!! But they were by far the best I have ever had. My personal favorite was the bee sting! So many complimentary flavors, I was just shocked at how delicious they were. Happy to have found this spot in Helena!
