We cant fault ZuZu. Everything was delicious and portion sizes are generous. The place looks very chic and def a good place for friday night dinner. I thought the price while not cheap was also reasonable for what we receive (goood foood).
The service is top notch. Our server Que is very attentive and friendly and help us with recommendations. We felt very welcomed and never rushed.
Timing of food and drinks were paced nicely despite it looks like a very busy dinner service. We didnt wait too long on things.
The only negative (if any) is probably could use a bigger table since we were eye hungry and theres just simply not enough space… But it was not disappointing as everything is so good. My favorite is the potato side dish, i could eat a bowl of that on its own. Then the seabass is really nice and remind me of nobu miso black cod. Overall a very good meal and great service. Thank you for making our evening in Detroit.

We booked dinner to celebrate 2 birthdays and had a very memorable experience. Mo warmly greeted us at the door and checked in on us throughout our dinner as well as provided a birthday surprise dessert but more on that later. Our server was LaDarrius who provided friendly and attentive service without being overbearing. A glass rimmed with lime and lemon wedges and some form of dry ice that resulted in a fog drifting over the table was set down, providing a unique effect. We started with the Wagyu Beef Gyoza (delicious), California roll (standard roll but packed with crab, no skimping here), and Truffle Scallop + Asian Pear roll (amazing). For dinner we had the roasted salmon (mother-in-law said it was quite possible the best salmon she has ever had), prime tenderloin filet, Szechaun NY Strip (incredible flavors including the 5-spiced potato), S&S chicken, Yaki udon noodle + chicken (delicious), and shrimp garlic noodles (great flavors, plenty of shrimp). 6 of 7 diners cleaned their plates, with just 1 needing a carryout box. We were given birthday shots (some kind of a sweet shooter) and the birthday girls received Zuzu’s take on strawberry shortcake with ice cream. Sparklers accompanied the desserts (we saw other desserts going out to tables with sparklers, Zuzu must go through a lot of sparklers) which added to the birthday celebration. And then Mo sent over a special dessert, similar to a melting chocolate ball dessert where a liquid was lit and then poured over the large chocolate ball causing it to melt to reveal a cake that was inside the ball. Big props for presentation, it’s quite a dramatic dessert. Excellent food, excellent service and a flair for the dramatic. Definitely a great dining experience!

My wife and I came before a concert for our first time. LaDarrius was our server and was fantastic. The food was amazing. We had the wagyu steak skewers, lobster tacos, gyoza, fried rice, Brussel sprouts, and two sushi rolls. Everything we ordered was incredible. We finished with the Labubu dessert which was also stunning. 10/10. Great job cocktails and all. We will definitely be back!

Our server Tomasita went above and beyond. Server was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful. Tomasita was very helpful in making decisions on what to order. She walked us through what the sushi tower was, I am very new to eating sushi so I was a little worried to get it so I had the udon instead it was great! My boyfriend ordered us a dessert as well and the presentation was gorgeous!

ZuZu is phenomenal!!! Perfect for family, friends and business! The manager, Moe, is friendly, caring and attentive. He’ll greet you, read your needs and ensure your expectations are exceeded. I truly believe he’s driving ZuZu’s success in downtown Detroit (so beautiful). Mention of fresh oysters with colorful dry ice flowing across the table, an out of this world gilded sushi tower presenting three courses of perfection (my absolute favorite), a medium rare tomahawk seasoned with love and a sexy bottle of wine, and you begin to see my obsession! This will forever be my favorite experience!!!

My husband and I dined here for our Wedding Anniversary and this place did not disappoint. We were served by Rosario and he’s awesome! Hands down,5 stars for his service. We were even welcomed with champagne for our anniversary and an Anniversary dessert afterwards.
We had their Wagyu Beef Gyoza, Crab/lobster tacos, Zuzu Omakase Sushi Tower, Tres Leches dessert. My favorite was the Zuzu Omakase tower since it was just so good! I also had the Sailor Moon Mai Tai drink, Another plus for the cute mug it came with. Will definitely come back! 🙂

I had a great experience celebrating my birthday at Zuzu! The most outstanding aspect of my experience was our server Darrius! He was professional, attentive, kind, and very personable. When I go back, I’ll definitely be requesting him.
The food was delicious, most of my party seemed to agree that the shrimp tempura roll was the best. The pineapple gave a very fresh flavor. The drinks were delicious as well. I’ll definitely be back. The only not so great thing was how dark the restaurant was at a certain time of night. They turned the lights down…all the way down. It was just too dark. But all and all we had a great time!

I went to Experience Zuzu for my birthday and it was fabulous! Easily one of the best restaurants and dining experiences in the city. Our waitress Mars was incredible, she gave us excellent recommendations and helped make my birthday celebration special. Some of our favorite items were the perfectly cooked lamb chops, melt in your mouth A5 wagyu beef skewers, and a decadent chocolate cake!

Was in the area for work and craving sushi—so glad Zuzu popped up on my map because wow. From the moment we walked in, Angel set the tone as an amazing hostess, getting us settled and taking our coats with ease.
Mars was our waitress and an absolute knockout. Super attentive, checked in with us consistently without ever hovering, and we never once felt forgotten or had to flag her down.
The cocktails were superb, and the food was simply next level. We started with the Wagyu gyoza and the crispy rice spicy tuna—that crispy rice was unreal. Honestly, insane.
For specialty rolls, we went with the Ora King, Jalapeño Hamachi, and Truffle Scallop. Every single roll melted in your mouth and somehow topped the last. Just ridiculous in the best way.
They had a great dessert selection, but we opted to cap the night with espresso martinis, which was the perfect finish.
Absolutely will be back the next time work brings us to the area. Zuzu is a must.
