I’ve been a loyal Tasty Budz customer for 2 years now, and they’ve never missed. Their food stays consistent & flavorful. The jollof rice & goat meat is easily some of the best I’ve had; perfectly seasoned, rich, and cooked with that authentic taste. Their fried rice & chicken is just as impressive, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
Tasty Budz truly deserves their name. If you’re looking for quality food, generous portions, and flavors that keep you coming back, I highly recommend them.

My limited knowledge of Ghanaian cuisine did not hinder my appreciation of the fantastic flavors on offer at Tasty Budz. The Jollof and Chicken caught my attention right away and did not disappoint! This is no simple rice dish; it is heavily flavored and cannot be easily dismissed as a side dish! The chicken was also packed with flavor, perfectly tender, and complemented the rice wonderfully.
The “Morning Dew” smoothie was another treat. I don’t recall all its ingredients, but the blend of almonds and banana created a creamy, indulgent treat that balanced the spice of the Jollof beautifully.
Tasty Budz is a must-visit, especially if you’ve never experienced Ghana’s culinary landscape! Can’t wait to try more.

The fufu and goat soup were phenomenal. I had to stop myself from finishing it so I could bring some home to share! Had never tried kenkey before and enjoyed it with the chicken. Cannot wait to come back and try the jollof rice! Really great place, great service, outstanding food.
Edit: I continue to dream of this food so always swing by when I am home if I can! Got the banku with chicken stew this time and totally devoured it. Wish I could bring home bottles of that sauce and the flavoring for that goat stew!!

If you need some good Ghanian food, drop by Tasty Budz! This place is a hidden gem in Mount Vernon! I had the goat and okra soup with Fufu and an amazing watermelon-ginger drink that they make! Wow and Mmmm is all I can say! Not only was the meal delicious but the owner and chef Kojo brought me an my homey Ameer our own bowls of soapy water in a basin so we could wash our hands before and after the meal! It’s the true African way of dealing with food – cleanliness is next to Godliness! The place is super clean as well! Walk, no run to this place! I’m trying the Jollof rice next time with fish! You will not be disappointed! Great food and service 5stars. Period…..☺️✌ ✌

Great food and great service! It was my first time having Ghanaian food and I got the Fante Kenkey with Chicken and my friend got the Fufu with Goat and they were both so flavorful, the meat was tender, and the goat stew had a little kick of heat. Will definitely be back!

I 10 out of 10 highly recommend this place. I had the okra stew with banku and jollof with fish and when I tell you … I’m content! The stew was my fav. Can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Y’all are appreciated! Finally a African restaurant nearby.

First time visiting Tasty Budz and it was based off my son’s recommendation as he had food delivered to us at home previously. The food was amazing and it was my second foray into West African cuisine. I’m very happy for the owners as I believe they are bringing great food and culture to Mount Vernon. The only feedback I have is the wait for food is extremely long. I imagine that most of the meals take a while to prepare but my son and I waited for nearly an hour for our pickup order, which is way too long. I hope they can find a way to speed up the food preparation or get more people to help out because I’d hate to see them not make it because people get tired of waiting so long for their orders.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the customer service is amazing and the Food is amazing and absolutely delicious, with a very unique selection. You won’t be disappointed at all going their and once you go their once you will be going their often. I recommend trying their Spurilina Slushy, their Okra Soup, their Ginger shot and Cold shot, their Jollof Rice and Chicken and so much more.
