This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back. My husband had the fish dinner with coleslaw and potato and I had the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and bicolored corn. They also give you homemade sliced bread to go with your dinner. We have to say the coleslaw was the best we’ve ever had, and we are coleslaw snobs. The homemade bread was so good we bought a loaf to take home and made french toast with it the following day. It was amazing! They also offer daily specials

This pecan pie was Delicious! They have so many varieties and their service is great. The entire staff is wonderful and you are greeted as family at the front door. Taylor, Erin, Melody, and all the other servers are fantastic!

This restaurant’s specialty is their “broasted chicken” which really isn’t that special in my opinion. I would almost compare it to gas station chicken. I got the broasted chicken tenders, but also fries and onion rings. The rest of the food really is delicious, and their homemade bread is to die for. I would come again, but maybe get something else.

Mel-O-Dee’s in New Carlisle is fantastic! The broasted chicken is delicious and brings back memories of the classic broasted chicken restaurant in Dayton. that we used to have. They’ve been serving the community for over 60 years with great food, friendly service, and a warm, family atmosphere. The service is great, prices are reasonable especially for the portion sizes. Don’t miss their all-you-can-eat fish Mondays and freshly baked bread available daily, it’s always an enjoyable experience. Lastly Michael was very professional curious and clearly cares about his customers.

My very good friend took me here for lunch yesterday. From the atmosphere service and the food, delicious, welcoming, and very respectful and attentive. The food was delicious. The best coleslaw I’ve ate in my entire life. You must try this place. If you’ve never been you won’t be sorry I ordered a double burger, fries and the coleslaw at lunchtime and I was so full the entire day delicious just delicious.

A very interesting restaurant, a tiny town of Medway that only has a population of 700, next to another town with only 5,000 people. The homemade bread that you get served complimentary as an appetizer is to absolutely die for! The atmosphere reminds you of small town old fashioned and old school. The food was delicious and relatively affordable, and if you’re looking for a good down-home old fashioned kind of meal that your grandparents would give you or take you to, this is the place to go.

I ordered dinner around 630pm on a Wed evening. The waitress recommended the beef tips with noodles. Came out with a few small beef cubes and covered in a ton of heavy jelled brown gravy. Like they scraped the pan to get one more serving. Cold slaw dripping in mayo with sugar. Disappointing because I was there a few months ago for early dinner and got beef stew that was delicious. My friend ordered the meatloaf and gave it a 5 out of 10. I sent beef tips/noddles back to remove the overwhelming amount of gravy the tips were burried in. Customers want consistency. I know it’s hard but it’s just too expensive to eat out and wish you had chosen a different place. Make improvements in the kitchen, please. We want a good meal.

You’ll Never get a bad meal here.
Home Town Service with a Home Town Smile. Make sure you stop by this restaurant, You’ll be glad you did – %

Side note: they will Not take reservations even though this is one of the questions this survey asked about. We had a table of 15, but it only took 10 or 15 minutes to get us taken care of.

Mashed potatoes with gravy tasted definitely like boxed potatoes. Absolutely no taste. Got the broasted fish and it was very oily, very thin, and overcooked. The bottom was too crisp. The bread was very good and the salad was very good. I’d stick with the chicken for your entree. That’s what this place specializes in. Never a bad meal when I order the chicken. Wonder what happened to the potatoes? All this said, the service is always special there. I appreciate it.
