Check them out. Fantastic brunch !!! If yiur around come check them out !!
I will continue to come as long as he is hosting. Maybe we can add a karaoke night
There’s a reason we come back time and time again. Donovan’s is our neighborhood watering hole and they know our family and friends by name as well as our orders.
Beyond thankful for Brandon and the team!
P.S. We even had our wedding reception after party here.
When we arrived, the place was surprisingly empty other than a group of about 10 people at the bar, 2 of whom looked to be employees. Thanks to that we were sat quickly, but unfortunately that was the only thing that happened quickly.
While we waited we browsed the menu, checked our phones, and chatted. Both of us had decided to order the fish and chips and were looking forward to trying it.
I made a joke about how rare it was we’d had enough time to choose what we were going to order before getting our drinks, which made both of us realize exactly how long we had been waiting by that point.
It would have been understandable if the place was busy, but it was surprisingly dead for a bar on a Friday night. At first I’d assumed we beat the dinner rush, but as time passed I began to think that maybe we were experiencing at least one reason other patrons gave Donovan’s a pass.
Around 15 minutes in we still hadn’t even been greeted. Dad checked his phone again and gave me The Look.
We left and went to GameDay instead, which was packed, and despite the fact that we were the only ones who chose to brave the cold and be seated outside, we’d barely settled in before our server Valerie was introducing herself.
When we were packing up our leftovers I said that we’d probably still be waiting for our drinks had we stayed at Donovan’s.
Unfortunately we will never get to try those fish and chips as we will not be returning. I typically prefer to eat my dinner before sunrise, which seemed unlikely to happen there.
see for yourself. Paul
That being said, we had fantastic service. Our server even moved as farther away from the door when she saw it. It was chilly for us. The food came out was hot, fresh. Very tasty. Everything was well done. The chef/ owner came out to our table to make sure that everything was fine and we wound up speaking for 15 minutes. It was quite interesting and he was quite refreshing. Definitely will be coming back. This was an excellent choice for dinner and we surely enjoyed it. It’s kind of out of the way but try to find it and come enjoy some good Irish pub food.
