The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a date night or a relaxed dinner with family and friends. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, which really added to the overall experience.
The only reason this isn’t a full five stars is that wait times can be a bit long during busy hours, but honestly, the food is worth the wait. Overall, Tuscany Il Ristorante is a fantastic choice for Italian cuisine, and I’ll absolutely be ba
I had never been to Tuscany il Ristorante before, but my date has been coming here for years and told me how incredible it was. From the moment we walked in, I could see why.
Immediately upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the bar staff—handshakes, hugs, smiles, the whole Italian hospitality experience. Tommaso, the owner, was there, and I received the most amazing hug. He knows my date very well, and you could just feel the deep-rooted connections this place has with its patrons.
What really stood out was the personal attention to detail. When we walked in, Tommaso made sure to take my handbag and hang it up, helped me with my coat, and pulled out my chair so I could sit at the bar. It was just amazing—kind of like being a guest in someone’s home. That’s exactly how I felt.
We only sat at the bar that night since we already had dinner plans elsewhere, but we knew we’d be back the next evening for a full meal with friends.
When we returned for our reservation, it was even more magical. There were six of us, and once again, we were greeted like family. Tommaso and the entire staff exuded warmth, charm, and a genuine love for what they do. The camaraderie between the employees was evident, and it’s clear that Tommaso treats his team with the same respect and kindness he extends to his guests.
One of the highlights of the evening was Tommaso’s tableside pasta demonstration—a simple yet exquisite dish made without milk or butter, just pasta, pasta water, cheese, and expertise. The result? Absolute perfection.
For my entrée, I had the Chilean miso chili sea bass, and it was outstanding—sweet, flaky, and bursting with flavor. It was the kind of dish that makes you forget what anyone else at the table ordered because you’re so enamored with every bite. There was warm, fresh bread with butter, a beautiful salad, and an incredible selection of wines that only elevated the experience.
To top it all off, we ended with a strawberry crème brûlée, which was rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet finale to an unforgettable evening.
I left feeling completely blessed—not just by the food, but by the atmosphere, the company, and the heart and soul that Tommaso puts into his restaurant. Tuscany il Ristorante isn’t just a place to eat—it’s an experience, a family, a tradition. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.
Your water glass will not go empty because again the staff are very attentive.
Really glad to have found this restaurant!
Oh, and their double chocolate cake was insanely chocolatey! Do it.

I’ve tried a few different Italian places in the Westlake and Thousand Oaks areas. I have to say this is one of the better, family friendly ones that really does give you your money’s worth.
Tonight we had the Grilled Colossal Prawns with fresh herb and roasted garlic sauce. Basically it’s pasta, with four big shrimp. Quite delicious, and I feel like it’s worth the $45. You do get a very large portion.
I also took the Butterfield Jumbo Prawns (3 per order) home to go. You get a side dish of pasta with olive oil and garlic with this item. Again, well worth the $45.
The service was great! Our waiter was from Iowa, and even made a joke about it being a four-letter word. LOL.
What I do like is that not only is Tomasso’s name on the menu itself as being the proprietor, but he also personally went around every single table in the restaurant to check on everyone’s order.
In terms of the atmosphere, if you want the hustle and bustle Italian hole in the wall spot, eat inside. If you want a more quiet experience, say a date night, enjoy the patio al fresco dining in the open air.
Overall, I’m quite pleased with this place, and look forward to visiting again soon to try their other dishes.
It really does depend what you order, but I do feel like your money is well spent here. Portion sizes are big, the pastas are not overly sauced, or drowned in sauce, and I feel like you are getting your money’s worth.
By comparison, you’ll find that this place is a little less expensive than other restaurants across the street, literally, also you’re getting larger portion sizes, and better tasting food. The risotto here for instance is $28. Across the street at Nona’s it’s $53. Do the math.
I’ll be back.
