Had crispy noodle, half size roasted duck and honey walnut shrimp, then finished with mango pudding. The food came very quick, and the server was attentive. Great to have complementary oolong tea along their food. Parking is limited but on the back side of the restaurant. Good for quick eat.

I was quite disappointed with the food here. The fried dumplings (jianjiao) were definitely not pan-fried; they were deep-fried to the point of being rock hard and impossible to chew. Additionally, the stir-fried vegetables had so much cornstarch thickening that it felt like eating a giant, gooey lump of dough rather than fresh greens. I wouldn’t recommend these dishes.

Honestly, for the amount of food we received for price didn’t add up. Overall experience was good, but just over priced for mediocre food. The Wontons were good that was worth the money.

Today I got to try their Egg Fu-Yong and found it very tasty and they do give a lot. Moreover, the server is very friendly and helpful.

This is a little different for me since I am conflicted. The food was good but not great. It appeared to be adequately prepared, and the flavor was good, but the beef was gristley, which shows a lower cut of meat. I will say this is better food than what you get at a chain restaurant.

## A Delightful Experience at House of Wong,

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the House of Wong and it was a truly satisfying experience that perfectly balances great taste, value, and classic ambiance. If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine without breaking the bank, this is the spot!
Culinary Highlights: Freshness and Flavor
The quality and freshness of the ingredients really shone through in every dish we ordered.
The Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables was outstanding. The shrimp was perfectly cooked—tender and succulent—and complemented by a vibrant mix of fresh, crisp Chinese greens. The sauce was light, savory, and allowed the natural flavors of the main ingredients to be the star.
*The Beef with Sweet and Sour Vegetables offered a wonderful contrast. The beef was tender, and the sweet and sour sauce had that perfect, tangy balance that wasn’t overly sugary or artificial. Again, the accompanying vegetables were fresh and had a satisfying crunch.
*We started with the classic Wonton Soup and Spring Rolls. The wonton wrappers were delicate, the filling was flavorful, and the broth was comforting and light—a perfect start. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside and packed with fresh, savory filling inside.
Every dish demonstrated a commitment to freshness and authentic, good tastes. The food was not heavy or greasy, but rather bright and clean.
Excellent Value
One of the most appealing aspects of House of Wong is the incredible value. The portions were generous, and considering the quality and location, the low price made this a real find. It’s refreshing to enjoy such satisfying food without a hefty bill!
Service and Atmosphere
From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring our water glasses were full and our dishes were brought out promptly and hot.
The restaurant itself has a wonderful, traditional Chinese restaurant atmosphere. It’s comfortable, welcoming, and has the familiar, warm decor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a classic, established eatery. It truly added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
In summary House of Wong is a must-try close to Waikiki for anyone craving delicious, fresh, and authentic Chinese food served with excellent care in a lovely, traditional setting, all at a fantastic price point. Highly recommended!

My partner and I came in on a complete whim just to try without looking at any reviews beforehand, and it was dead empty inside, but we still felt like being adventurous and ordered a few things. Was definitely subpar Chinese-American food, but it was certainly an experience. The hot sour soup was not sour at all and not really hot either the mango pudding didn’t taste whatsoever of mango (or anything for that matter) and was a concerning neon shade of orange. Some things were not bad- the gongbao squid and almond tofu with canned lychee for example. Maybe best as takeout for a comfort food craving, but there’s choke options on island that will likely satisfy better!

The food disappointed me. We were almost about to leave and not to pay for it, it was so bad. We had orange chicken and as far as I don’t like chains, Panda has way better food, also hor&sour soup was not good at all. Find another place.

Arrived on a Monday afternoon to an empty restaurant Mostly takeout orders though halfway through our lunch another couple arrived.

Ordered the Beef chow fun with soy sauce, and House special crispy noodle. Both each came with a bowl of corn soup. All the food had too much salt.

Don’t waste your time or money. Tiny portions that aren’t even enough for one person for $18 a pop. Insane.
