Rick (the chef and owner) is a genuine and amazing individual and that translates right into the food. Stopped here after a long day of driving and had the burger which was beyond delicious. If you love food or are looking for a bite that will make you simply fall in love with the moment, go to eat at Chef Ricks. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Exceptionally good restaurant, with a great owner. Absolutely must try the Garlic Soup, one of the best things I have eaten in the last year. Blackened Steak Sandwich was huge and delicious. Bread was great, seems like they make their own, Ribeye Steak was tender and perfectly seasoned.

Fairly recently turned vegan and loved this place beforehand, I’m super excited they have vegan options on their menu so I can continue to enjoy them! I ordered the vegan crab cake, it was absolutely delicious. For my taste a bit too much sauce on the plate but overall the flavors were fantastic. Other menu items I would like to try in the future include the vegan patty melt, the vegan sliders, the vegan cheeseburger, and probably other items that you can just remove cheese to make it vegan, like sandwiches and salads.

The place looks great and it’s always busy. I am very saddened when food is delivered at different times to the table. There was only for of us and 1 plate came out then a few minutes later a 2nd and a few minutes later the 3rd plate was brought to the table. When the first plate came out was my granddaughters hamburger and it came as a CHEESEBURGER… she will NOT eat cheese on a burger so it was sent back. 5 minutes later the waitress brought it back; they scraped of MOST of the cheese and brought back the same plate with the same fries so they weren’t too hot. When the 4th and last plate arrived the fries were COLD and the waitress asked if we wanted her to take them back… I suggested that she just bring some HOT fries out for him. My granddaughter had ordered a sprite and we had to remind her 3 times before she brought that out. Honestly the food was mediocre, it surely was not the quality it had been before when Chef Ricks was on Bradley and Clark years ago. I don’t think I would go back. But the Coconut Shrimp appetizer was very good and the process are very reasonable. So on that note it was good. I have owned and operated 3 restaurants in the past and my biggest pet peeve next to good hot food delivered to the table at the same time, is the service… be on it and if you are going to take orders and not right three orders down then remember what is said. If you want honest reviews then you got it!!

I ordered takeout from a gift card. The Mexican patty melt was everything you want in a burger. The seasoning was good and perfectly balanced. Even cold for breakfast was yummy the next day.Chef Rick is a talented man who shines on the central coast.

Visiting from North Carolina. The food was great, although the portion sizes were all over the place between different dishes. It seemed very expensive ($70 for 3 people) but maybe that’s just California prices.

A mixture of Mexican/southern food. They season everything really well, but it may be too much for your preference. I really like the jambalaya and the dessert, but the food is heavy. I’d go again depending on the occasion
