I had a great time stopping in while traveling. I enjoyed the hushpuppies and chicken sandwich. Loved the roll the chicken was on and everything had great flavor. Only regrets is going solo and not having room to try fried chicken quarters.

This was an uneventful lunch that left me wishing I’d gone to Chick-fil-A instead. The chicken was decent, but beyond that nothing stood out. It started with my waiter; I felt like I’d have to buy a smile from him. Maybe it was just me, but the wilted salad from too much vinaigrette definitely wasn’t. The mashed potatoes and gravy looked better than they tasted bland and forgettable. And the biscuits? Cold, with a glob of butter just sitting on top. Collectively, the meal fell flat.

The food here was excellent. Specifically the chicken sandwich and macaroni & cheese. We could have split these two items as a meal for 2. Nachos were also tasty, but lots of food. Paid street parking available with ParkMobile App. Restaurant was busy so you may need reservations for seats outside of the bar.

Second time coming here and the food was excellent , I’ve had their classic chicken which was great but my new favs are the chicken blt and hush puppies !! The FLAVOR was so well put together, my husband really enjoyed the Mac n cheese with burnt ends and said the meat was so tender! Such a nice place for lunch or dinner !

We ordered 4 items, the burger, hush puppies, the fries, and the biscuits. All items came with a creative dip/sauce. No item was a disappointment! I’ve always hated honey butter, I’m not sure how this place did it, but I’m obsessed with their honey butter! So much so, I forgot to take a picture before digging in! Everything was so delicious! We arrived on a whim new years eve, waited about two minutes for a table, wasn’t too loud. The staff were incredibly friendly. We even received free champagne when midnight hit! An amazing experience and happy we stopped by. Rare in Indiana when everything we ordered was a hit. Definitely be recommending this place to family and friends. Well done!

I’ve seen one of these restaurants in Pittsburgh and wanted to try it, but never got the chance. So, when in this area and seeing they had one and the reviews were really good, I went in. I sat at the bar during lunch and they weren’t busy at all. They feature a menu which centers around their fried chicken, they have related sides, and sandwiches too.
I opted for a ¼ chicken dark meat, which actually comes with 2 legs and a thigh for $10, which I thought was a great deal for a “restaurant” style fried chicken. I also ordered a side of cole slaw with it. The fried chicken was excellent! The meat was very moist and flavorful and I loved the breading too, which was very light. It comes with their hot honey, which actually had a nice little kick to it and was a nice compliment to the chicken. Their cole slaw was excellent! Made with light mayo which seemed to be mixed with vinegar and large slices of cabbage – nicely seasoned, it was great!
Service provided was excellent too! Highly recommend stopping in!!

We were seated quickly outside, the server was friendly and helpful.
The grilled cheese with fried chicken … let me tell you – was SUPERB. The Mac n cheese was great, and the sweet potatoes… mmmm.
I’m drooling just thinking about this dinner. If I’m in Indy again, this will be a must-go. Fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.

Had an amazing meal here! The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned, and that hot honey? Absolutely killer—sweet, spicy, and just the right kick. The mac and cheese was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, and dipping the biscuits into the cheese sauce? Total comfort food bliss! Seriously, every bite felt indulgent in the best way. On top of that, the Bourbon Punch cocktail was a total winner—refreshing, perfectly balanced, and a generous pour. The whole meal hit all the right notes: bold flavors, comforting classics, and a drink that just rounds everything out perfectly. The vibe was fun and casual, making it easy to just relax and enjoy the food. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again and again—between the fried chicken, cheesy goodness, and amazing cocktails, it’s hard to beat.

My wife and I tried The Eagle downtown (reserved through OpenTable) since it’s known for its fried chicken.
The space has a small entryway and a lively, bar-forward vibe with lots of high-top seating and good blues music. Our waitress was bubbly and attentive, and the Bourbon Punch was solid.
My wife ordered the half chicken. The first breast came out overcooked. To their credit, they replaced the entire half chicken — not just the one piece — and it came back out quickly. The second round had better flavor with a noticeable rosemary note she enjoyed. They still discounted the meal, which we appreciated.
Sides were mixed. The grits coagulated quickly, the collard greens had a vinegar-forward taste, and the mac and cheese was very al dente with sauce pooled to one side—flavor was fine but nothing memorable.
I ordered the pimento cheese burger with a kale salad. The burger arrived lukewarm and felt underwhelming; the pimento flavor didn’t show up until two-thirds in. It tasted like it may have been precooked. The server handled the feedback professionally and discounted it. The kale salad—with cornbread croutons, apples, and golden raisins—was excellent.
Pricing felt fair, and the manager stopped by to check in. Overall, I’m 50/50 on returning. I’ve had stronger Southern-inspired meals at Root & Bone, but The Eagle’s service team did make a genuine effort to correct issues.
