Do you like toxic melted styrofoam on your food? They put the hush puppies in the tray with no foil and they melted through, I could hear the foam sizzling when they handed it to me.

Edit: I did try to reach out to Cook Out via the contact feature on their website and they ignored me so I posted this review a week later.

Wonderful, eat-in style Cook Out. Peaceful and clean. Stellar customer service. Monique and Colleen deserve shout-outs! Being primary a Midwestern gal, my experience with this chain has been limited. Not only were the staff friendly and patient, they took the time to highlight the best lunch deals and options. Also suggested ranch sauce for my cheese bites – perfect! Thanks, gals!!

The worst fast food place I’ve ever experienced. Waited 30 minutes only for two cars to be served ahead of us. As we waited, we saw three employees take a break at the same time while the drive through was full of cars waiting. Was able to maneuver and thankfully leave the line before I had to wait likely like an hour and a half for a milkshake.

Melissa helped us at the counter today and she was the most sweet and caring person ever! I had a young boy with me and she was so helpful and patient with him even when I accidently ordered the wrong food! Great place will be back.

Overall, the food was a good deaI since I get more food per dollar compared to other fast food chains. I got the Big Double burger “Cheddar style.” The cajun fries were a bit soggy and the onion rings were mid. However, the banana pudding shake was good just that it had more of a thicker consistency like ice cream to the point where I needed a spoon to eat/drink it.

Bright and cheerful ambience. I am a vegetarian and when I couldn’t get anything vegetarian from menu the young man at the counter offered to make me an impromptu vegetarian sandwich ! Now that’s southern hospitality and genuinely inclusive and service oriented attitude. Hats off to Cookout and it’s staff. The young girl who helped me to get extra spoons was also very pleasant with a genuinely warm smile.

Now for the food!

The banana walnut milkshake was simply heavenly ! Rich …. but soul satisfying taste. The fries seemed authentic and satisfying. It could have been more crispy.

Husband ordered a burger too. All this for an affordable price $11. Now that’s value for your money!

Overall a very happy experience. Great place to meet friends or for casual family gatherings.

I have waited for 30 minutes for a milkshake and fries on my last two visits . I was called a sloucher by the bands kids the first time and a snatcher by the cookout workers the second time. “We’ve got a snatcher”-cookout worker. For self-proclaimed fast food this is nothing like fast food. More like slow food. I will be taking a break from my weekly cookout milkshake until they can get me my food in under 10 minutes. I even have shed tears, crushed my recipient and if I think about it too much I and filled the rage.

Cookout is a NC mainstay – the flexibility of the tray and hodgepodge of milkshakes creates a place that really feels like home to a CLT native. This particular branch offers tshirts in a perfect Carolina blue, the best for repping the brand out of state.

Food is good as well – hot, bountiful, and always reasonably priced. Still locking in the perfect version of a cheddar style big double. Never overlook a tray with corndog / quesadilla / or something else unexpected.
Shakes here are good as well.

I would give it 0 stars! This cookout NEVER gets my order correct! Always something missing and always something not right! They also rush you at the drive through and don’t listen to the order completely! Food is always cold or old tasting!

We ordered 2 meals waited 20 minutes, get our food. Husband opens his double cheeseburger to find a tiny burger and then an even smaller one. The tomato was bigger than larger burger. Not first time getting a double burger so I go ask the manager who says yes one burger is larger then second is smaller, that’s the way we make it. Really looks like they took one burger and split it to make two. Asks if we want a new one because she admitted they were very small. We just waited 20 minutes for this. Also rude. Plus employee just outside door smoking so you have to walk through it.
