They have sandwiches, pizzas, ribeye steaks, grilled or fried shrimp, a salad bar, something for everyone.
The “special menu” on Valentine’s Day was not specific enough to order from & when orders were placed, problems occurred.
This piece of paper menu was a steak and your choice of two sides. Period. No price. No rules. Simply steak with two sides of your choice. I went to order my steak and a two side salads as my two choices. The waitress hesitated and said I could not do that. Although the cheap menu paper did not say that. I politely suggested that they start making the menus more specific. Well, the waitress proceed to get the “Manager”- a heavy set older lady with short hair. She came out and questioned me questioning this cheap piece of paper of a menu. When all I said was this menu needed to state one can not order two of the same sides without being charged an additional $3.99 for it. NO LIE…. She literally argued with me and then challenged me verbally that potatoes cost less than iceberg lettuce. Meanwhile, the entire back room was watching!! And the worse part about it… SHE DIDN’T STOP!!! I asked her, “Are you seriously being unprofessional while arguing with a customer???” She never commented. After she walked to the back, the waitress was shocked by her behavior, the table next to us said they had the same problem with her attitude. I went to make my overrated high dollar side salad and saw a friend of mine in the next room. Of course I shared with her our experience and she said they had the same problem. And they had to order two separate steak dinners to get another side salad and they simply wanted to split one because of a medical diet. The steak had zero flavor. Ended up being over cooked. Our experience was HORRIBLE because of the manager walking out and being unbelievably rude to us at the table! Of which most everyone in the back room said, “Well, she just made her self look bad.”, “Boy, if the Owner not only heard about this, but actually witnessed the way she treated you as a paying customer”, “Wow, I can’t believe she kept trying to argue with you?!”, “Man!! She was so unprofessional.”, “Sweetie, you need to do a Review on Google.” And that’s why you’re reading this review…
As for three paying adults, we WILL NOT be going back to Big Al’s!!! We can pay way less at the Waffle House and get way better treatment!! This woman should be FIRED!! It was so horrible!! If the owner only knew how horrible she treats HIS paying customers!! The Owner, the one that sunk his money into the business at the very beginning. There’s no way he would tolerate her behavior.
FYI, yes, lettuce does cost is less than a whole potato.
WE WILL NOT BE GIVING OUR HARD EARNED MONEY THERE AGAIN!!!. Nobody should ever have to pay to be treated like that!!
Finally, the waitress was embarrassed, shocked, and apologized. But still…,
