That said, there were a couple of disappointments with the food. The soup was overly salty, and the salad came with canned salmon instead of the lightly salted salmon I mistakenly expected. Despite this, the quality of service, the ambiance, and the overall impression of the place were very positive.
I would definitely consider returning, especially for the unique vibe and atmosphere.
For appetizers, the deviled eggs were flavorless, and the French onion soup was nothing more than bland, watered-down potato soup. Not even close to what was advertised.
For entrées, we tried both the chicken and the steak, and both were cooked into oblivion. The steak I ordered medium rare was delivered so overdone it might as well have been beef jerky. It was inedible.
For dessert, we wanted two carrot cakes, but they were already out. We ended up with one carrot cake and one caramel cake. The caramel cake was so stiff and hard it was barely edible. The carrot cake frosting tasted fine, but the slice itself looked like it had been patched together just to make it work as a serving.
This place feels like it’s cutting every corner possible, and the food quality reflects that. Omaha has too many genuinely good restaurants to waste your money here.
We will go back.
Although it was tricky to flag down the waiter at times (because it was so busy), the food and atmosphere were amazing! We can’t wait to go back! Great place!
I order an Bloody Mary was good. Appetizer Rum Jerk wings(Pretty good, but hubby didn’t enjoy them), Greek salad(I really enjoyed. You got a olive, tomato, and feta with each bite), and main course Garlic Shrimp Risotto(I added the asparagus. I think it was a good risotto being it was my 1st time having it.)
For our main courses, we enjoyed the Garlic Shrimp Risotto and Wild Mushroom Gnocchi. Both dishes were absolute winners. The Garlic Shrimp Risotto was creamy and packed with flavor, while the Wild Mushroom Gnocchi was a comforting, earthy delight.
The ambiance at Stokin Goat was fantastic, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. But what truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, Stokin Goat is a must-visit in Omaha for its innovative and delicious cuisine, wonderful ambiance, and top-notch service. We can’t wait to return!
