Heard about this place from a family friend and he said this is the best Birria in North County San Diego. We came here on a Saturday at 9 am. We started off ordering 2 Cafe de Ollas and 1 regular coffee. For my taste the Cafe de Olla had a bit too much sugar. For the main dishes we ordered the Molcajete Ay Jalisco which came with Birria (you can pick goat or beef, beans, onion, cilantro and some broth, Birria Nachos, side of Rice and a Side of Beans. All the food was really good but the Molcajete Ay Jalisco was insane! So much flavor, tender meat but slightly crispy exterior. I can see the hype and I would recommend the food here!

Amazing!!!! I regret the many times I drove past this place and didn’t go in. I’m not found of birria places because they always use beef but Birrieria Ay Jalisco uses actually goat, the traditional way of making birria! I was craving mexican food like menudo or chilaquiles like my mom would make on weekend mornings, just some homey comfort food so my wife and I decided to come finally try this restaurant. We walked in and the wall art inside is absolutely beautiful!
We ordered the chilaquiles, a regular bowl of menudo and the Tijuana (Birria con frijoles de la olla). The chilaquiles were perfect and the green salsa they put on them was so good!! The cheese on them was so fresh and not too much crema (sour cream) with tender pieces of birria on top. It was so good and served so beautifully! The menudo was so good, served nice and hot with tender meat that was cleaned (because you can tell when it’s not properly cleaned). It was a little more orange than the red color I’m used to, but none the less it was still absolutely delicious! And the Tijuana was amazing! The beans were delicious, and the homemade tortilla was done so well!
Overall, this is an authentic Birrieria, which is hard to find, but they will not disappoint!

I’ll need to revisit to give a better review; I only stopped through quick because I was in the area and needed some food.
I can say that this place is amazing. They have legit goat birria, which is pretty hard to find in the San Diego area, and their salsas and buche will not disappoint.

Driest Quesabirria I’ve ever had in my entire life! They make the tortilla so thick and without dipping in consome, then skimp on the cheese. Plus you have order the consome on the side for an addition $4. The horchata tasted so nasty and sour too, I had to ask for a different drink. All that for $21+ ??? There’s 3 different songs going on the entire time dining in, one from the TV in the dining, second from the employees phones, and the third blasting from the kitchen. Yeah this spot!!!

A very bad experience. I will never come back again. The food was terrible, and the service was even worse. I advise everyone to stay away and be cautious.

Nicole and Carla are amazing! We had great service from Nicole and Carla was able to assist us in a transaction we had issues with. Carla went the extra mile helping us. Nicole was also assisting us with our specific needs during our visit. Amazing personnel! Every time we come here the food is delicious and they do not take a long time to serve which is amazing. I’ve tried the posole and the café there. Oh yeah, for the first time and it was actually really delicious. The service is amazing.
Shout out to Ivan he was an amazing! He got our order as soon as possible and checked up on us from time to time.

I was driving down from Murrieta and searched “Best Menudo in Escondido” on Google. Ay Jalisco came up and I decided to stop by. Was immediately greeted and seated, ordered within 5 minutes , food was served 5 minutes later. Got a regular menudo and side of pata. Order came with Onion, cilantro, lemon, and 3 hand made tortillas. Everything was soooooo Amazingly delicious! The broth was super good, they put plenty of meat and hominy, it was exactly what I was craving. Will definitely be coming back and trying out the birria next time.

Had the birria molcajete, handmade tortillas, rice, and quesabirria….I really enjoyed the quesabirria, the birria molcajete, the beans and the handmade tortillas. I especially enjoyed the birria stayin’ hot in the molcajete and having no
coagulation, like birria typically does after a few minutes of it being served. Here u can take your time eating and savoring it without it coagulating. The handmade tortillas were the icing on the birria. They just made it taste that much better, and it wasn’t gamey either. Thanks for staying open longer for us to enjoy a good tasting lunch. By the way, the molcajete can easily be shared by 4 or more people. The customer service was also exceptional. Thank you for staying open past your closing hours for us to enjoy Birria at your location for the first time.

Food was amazing! The green salsa was a little salty but the beef and avocado helped tone it down. Other than that this place was bomb so it still gets 5 stars in my book.
