10 yrs , celebrated birthday’s , graduations or just order to go . Today I have a horrible experience I place a to go order they not only hang up the phone on me , when I was given the order I requested sour cream since the food I ask for had a lot of chicken taquitos and they wanted me to pay 3.45 for a tiny dip , the put the guacamole and the sour cream on the saje bowl . When I requested to speak with the person in charge , Jorge the owner’s brother came out just telling me that if I wanted some more I had to pay. The only thing he offered was to separate the sour cream and the guacamole. . Not only the size of customer service and taste of the food I was served has diminished while the price they were requesting for this small sour cream and food price has increased. For me, was not so much paying for the sour cream, it’s the way the situation was handled what prompted me to write the review . I have to mention that my experiences in the restaurant while the owner it’s there , have been amazing. I suggest Jorge should get intensive customer service training and focus more on the customer experience. Superb customer service it’s what brings repetitive clientele that will not mind spend money.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Macho Burrito and nachos. We are visiting for 2 weeks from Canada and I think we will certainly make our way back again this trip and all others to come.
The atmosphere here is genuinely great. The live mariachi band adds a fun touch, and we really enjoyed it. The chips and salsa and the elotes appetizer were solid. I also liked the mango margarita. That said, these positives alone wouldn’t be enough for me to return.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, the food itself was well below average. I was honestly shocked when my entrée arrived. I ordered the steak fajitas (medium), but the steak had no char, no color, very little flavor, and was so overcooked it was inedible. The vegetables were also disappointing—roughly chopped onions, barely any peppers, and no color or sizzle on the plate. I ended up having to send it back, and the pictures I posted are actually after they attempted to “fix” the dish.
My husband had the chicken quesadillas. They were fine, but nothing memorable.
Overall, we left very disappointed.
Not a typical dish I would find normally at a Mexican restraunt. After the meal all I could talk about is how amazing it was. The Pork shank was fall off the bone tender, and the sauce paired so well with it I licked the plate.
The veggies had no flavor at all- i mean none. The carnitas were DRY… like nothing helped to doctor it- ugh- killed me. My husband’s fish tacos were grossly overcooked, he endured 2 of them. Me being the person that i am- i did not complain- we paid/ tipped and left underwhelmed.
However, petty me took my leftovers to the relative that hyped this place up. I needed to hear why they hated me enough to direct me to dry carnitas?!? I flipping love carnitas #RUDE
