We asked the desk clerk at our hotel for a good local breakfast place and she recommended MartAnn’s restaurant. This was a unique breakfast experience that served traditional Mexican breakfast but also American traditional fare as well. Everything was done top notch, and this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve have in a while. I had the chorizo / egg breakfast and it came the healthy side of hashbrowns that were done perfectly as well as rice and beans. It stuck to my ribs and carried me all through the day until supper that evening. my wife had some really awesome French toast. We will definitely be here again the next time we’re in Flagstaff.

My husband and I are visiting Arizona for our honeymoon (we’re from Ohio) and this was one of the first places we decided to try out! And we’re so glad we did, some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had! Love the atmosphere and the music. Staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food is amazing! We also loved the beautiful art on the walls, definitely gives MartAnnes a unique kind of charm! We visited twice during our stay, can’t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend, if we’re ever in Arizona we’ll definitely come back! Much love from the Newbolds

I googled “Chaquiles Flagstaff” and this place came up. I know this place usually has minimal parking and the location is cramped. We just happened to show up (9am-ish) right before there was a “waiting line.”
It did take awhile for our server to come take our order, but we did get our water almost right away.
My mom ordered French toast and loved it!
I ordered the “Christmas style” chilaquiles (red and green sauce) with rice and beans. I wasn’t impressed with the chilaquiles, as it is a “comfort food” but it tasted like a butchered Rachel Ray mexican-style recipe. There was too much seasoning, particularly cumin. It was overly done, so much that all “comfort” was nowhere to be seen. The presentation the dish looked beautiful and tasty though.
The beans and rice was okay. My coffee was refilled in a timely manner.
The reviews said the chilaquiles were great, but I think they’re mediocre for those who typically love chilaquiles for their taste and comfort.

MartAnne’s was so good we went back for breakfast. I had Carne Asada for lunch and it was great. It is a lot of food so bring your appetite or be ready to take home a doggie bag. In all seriousness, when I come near AZ I will make a special trip to eat here. The other picture is of a cheese filled starter I can’t remember the name of. It was ok. The real star from this restaurant was the green chili pork pasole. If they ever start shipping it I will need to buy a deep freezer. I dont even like pork so I got a side of it and the carne asada. My meal was fantastic, but when we went back the next day I certainly had pasole on my plate. I cannot recommend it enough. I have also included some views from our seats as the snow fell.

I consider this New Mexico style cuisine; at least the dishes I always get. The food here is incredible and never disappoints. Anytime I’m in Flag this is a must and is likely one of my top 5 restaurants. Their buckwheat pancakes are incredible. Their fresh salsa, the hash browns, the beans, their bacon, anything they make is perfect.

Halfway through this meal, I looked at my husband and said: “this might be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.” No joke, at a minimum, definitely the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Service was friendly and fast, even on a busy Sunday morning. JBs Volcano was to die for. Crispy chilaquiles, a runny egg, cheesy, warm gooey goodness. The verde sauce is something special. My husband asked if we could take a gallon home. The chorizo was spicy and flavorful. Buckwheat pancake was warm, delicious, and filling And the coffee was great! If you’re in Flagstaff, this is the place to go for breakfast.

Just remember to write this because a friend is traveling through Flag right now and I told him where the best place to eat in town is. Probably the best breakfast I have ever had. So much food it was my lunch also. And the waitress’s are awesome. Here’s what we ate.. cant wait to travel back that way..

This place is 10/10.

The food was amazing. I got JB’s Volacano (an interesting and delicious take on classic chiliquiles) which was amazing. The meat and chili were incredible.

My lady got the BLT which was also 10/10.

Lastly, we got a happy hour mango margarita and it was sweet – with a punch!

Service was fast and the hostess/waitress was very nice.

Would definitely recommend, especially for travelers from out of town.

Dear Lord, it’s me, don’t let me die without trying MartAnnes food again. Please and thank you.

I cannot explain how good their food is, the beans are so tasty, their hash browns are crispy, the burritos big and crunchy… the ambiance is so cool. And they have great prices, also their salsa
