We came here with my son and we wanted to have a little fancy dinner 🙂 Service was very nice. We had a bottle of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio, a vibe I really like and calamari which was fantastic. Perfectly cooked. We loved my Linguini Pescatore and my son had Gnocchi. We both were pleased with our orders. I recommend this nice place to anyone who are ok to spend around $40-$50 per person for a nice dinner

leans heavily on its address and hopes you won’t look too closely at what’s on the plate. We ordered two pasta dishes, both forgettable. The Spaghetti Amatriciana arrived utterly devoid of heat—so mild it barely qualified as a whisper of spice—while the Linguini Pescatore was so aggressively doused in lemon that it overwhelmed everything else, including any sense of balance.

Dessert brought a brief moment of redemption: the tiramisu was good, pleasant even, but hardly memorable. Enjoy, nod politely, and immediately forget.

Given the location and the prices, the disappointment felt familiar—unsurprising, yet still frustrating. The wine, to be fair, was excellent; the list is easily the strongest part of the experience. Unfortunately, it also served to highlight how little else stood out.

Even the atmosphere failed to rise to the occasion. For a Saturday night, the room felt oddly flat, steeped in that unmistakable Old Port energy: charge as much as possible, deliver as little as necessary. Everything looks right on the surface, but substance is in short supply.

Like many restaurants in the area, it’s… fine. Perfectly okay. But fine doesn’t justify the price tag. And in a city full of places that actually try, “fine” just isn’t enough.

Jacopo is a really nice restaurant, even though I completely forgot the name of the dish I ordered. Honestly, the name didn’t matter much in the end because the sauce was absolutely amazing. It was rich, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the dish. I actually found myself wishing there was more pasta on the plate just so I could enjoy the sauce a little longer. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly — not too soft, not too firm — exactly how pasta should be.

The chicken that came with the dish was also good and well prepared, and the appetizer we ordered was enjoyable as well. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made, which made the meal feel a bit more special than a standard restaurant experience.

At one point, we asked for bread so we could soak up the rest of the sauce left on our plates. They do have bread, but it’s not something they automatically serve, and you have to ask for it. There was a bit of miscommunication around that, and when the bread did arrive, it honestly wasn’t the greatest. Still, it wasn’t a big issue and didn’t take away too much from the overall experience.

This visit actually made me want to try a lot more pasta places. It felt like I’ve been missing out on really good pasta all this time. Overall, Jacopo left a strong impression, and I’d definitely be open to coming back and exploring more of their menu.

The ambiance of the place was very nice. We received very good and attentive service, plus everything was delicious.

We ordered the lavender and peach mocktails which were excellent.
The bruschetta started was also very good.
And the two mains: mushroom gnochhis, and braised lamb tomato sauce pasta were both excellent.

Would definitely come back and highly recommend.

We went here last Friday and had a yummy dinner. I love Italian food. This place had several options. We had a reservation a week ago because we knew it would be crowded. The location is great, right by the water. The service was good, could have been better, The food was great! I had the mushroom pasta and loved it. Good atmosphere with nice music.

We had a great experience at Jacopo in Old Montreal! We had a reservation for later in the evening but tried walking in a bit earlier around 7:30pm on a Sunday — they weren’t accepting walk-ins at that time, so we were lucky to have booked ahead. Definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, just in case.
The ambience was wonderful — the heated patio is beautifully lit, the main floor has a cozy, darker vibe, and the upper level feels more open and spacious. It’s a surprisingly large restaurant, and despite the buzz, the music wasn’t too loud, which made it easy to chat and enjoy conversation.
Our server was super friendly and spoke English, which made everything smooth. The mushroom gnocchi was delicious — perfect texture, great flavour, and just the right amount of sauce. They also have a nice selection of wines, and our food came out in about 15–20 minutes.
We noticed a few birthday celebrations happening, and it’s clear Jacopo is great for groups or special occasions, with large tables available.
Overall, the food was excellent, prices were fair (around $15–20 for appetizers and $25–35 for mains), and the setting makes it a perfect spot for a date night, dinner with friends, or a family outing. Highly recommend!

started slow but this place redeemed itself x100. we came for our anniversary and were put in the crummiest table and our server didn’t notice us. after about 12 mins we politely flagged someone down and hes like “yeah im your server here i am”. the vibe was off so we asked to be moved to another section and also to one of the nicer empty tables. from then on the experienced was wholly redeemed. we got possibly the nicest server ive met in a long time. sorry i forgot her name but she was an angel. the bussers, hosts, and manager were all extremely kind and comped a few items to our table. the food was also EXTRAORDINARY. everything from the salad to the bread and the pastas. i didn’t realize they don’t do the cheese wheel on weekends so im gonna have to come back for that. the ambiance inside was also lovely and the decor is tasteful. overall id recommend as we ended up having a delightful experience. everything is reasonably priced IMO and the portions are decent (except caesar you might need 2! it’s also so good!!!). the drinks are also fueeeegoooooo

Stopped in for lunch on New Years Day. We were sat in front of the fireplace which was a dream. Had a fantastic bowl of French onion soup and steak. Lorenzo came by our table a few times and welcomed us in, great guy! Highly recommend

We were there for the countdown, so it was tasting menu, not the regular. It was delicious although Italian tasting menu was really a bit odd… but it was to celebrate new year, so everything was good.

The food was absolutely delicious and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Everything we ordered tasted great, though I did find the prices a bit on the higher side.
The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting, which we really enjoyed. However, the air-conditioning was running quite strong. Since it was cold outside, we ended up keeping our jackets on, and the food cooled down faster than expected.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience with excellent food, but adjusting the temperature would definitely make it even better.
