Pho Bar in Dorchester absolutely delivered tonight. I ordered the Special Pho and it was spot on. The broth was clean, deeply flavorful, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The beef was sliced thin, tender, and high quality. The fresh rice noodles had that ideal chew — soft but still pleasantly springy.
The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed family dinner. We had such a great time together. The owner was incredibly friendly and genuinely hospitable, which made the whole experience even better.
If you’re serious about good pho in Boston, this place deserves a visit.

The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated, with a modern and comfortable atmosphere that makes it a pleasant place to dine. The space feels well taken care of, and overall first impressions were positive.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the bánh bèo chén. It was flavorful, well-prepared, and stood out as the best dish we tried. The texture and taste were on point, and it’s honestly the main reason I’m giving this place 4 stars instead of lower.
The menu, however, is quite small with limited options, mostly focused on phở. Unfortunately, the phở khô Gia Lai was disappointing. It was expensive for the portion and quality, and the sauce was overwhelmingly dominated by hoisin sauce and a strong MSG flavor. Instead of enhancing the dish, the sauce completely overpowered it and ruined the overall balance of the bowl. For the price, it was not worth it and did not reflect the authentic taste I was expecting.
The bún bò Huế was slightly better than the phở khô Gia Lai, but still just average. It didn’t stand out much and felt somewhat underwhelming overall.

Definitely one of the best pho in the Boston area thanks to the fresh noodle. Still a good amount of improvement to be made to the broth though with flavoring. I got the Bun Bo Hue and I do appreciate the amount of meat and noodles. However, the soup is missing the classic shrimp paste, and could certainly do more banana leaves. The blood pudding also has a sticky after taste which shouldn’t be happening. Since this is still fairly new I am confident and hoping that they will improve the recipes over time. Will definitely pick up the fresh noodles here every now and then for some home-cooked Pho though!
I also really like the decoration and design of the place, and no misspelling of Vietnamese characters is certainly a plus

The food here is really good, though definitely on the pricey side for pho and the other dishes. The broth is aromatic and full of flavor, and while the noodles aren’t traditional pho noodles, they seem to be homemade. The meat was a little chewy, not bad, just not the best texture. Portions are huge, my partner and I shared a regular bowl and were both full.
Overall, great quality and worth checking out, but a very expensive.

Pho Bar is a must if you love real Vietnamese comfort food. The pho broth was amazing — rich, clean, and packed with flavor without being too salty. You can tell it’s made with care.
The shrimp wrapped in wonton skin was also delicious — crispy, fresh, and honestly one of the best appetizers I’ve had in a while.
Everything came out hot, the herbs were fresh, and the overall experience was great. I’ll definitely be back.

So good! Just found this place and it is delicious. So cute inside and quick too. Passion fruit sugarcane juice is amazing, and the hangover cure Pho was very nourishing and flavorful. Service was wonderful too. Very friendly and efficient.

Han and the staff/kitchen, do a great job every time! They are very nice and it’s the best service you can get! Best place to eat for special occasions, weekends, and even every other day, especially when it’s super cold out! The pho đặc biệt with fresh noodles will change your life, the broth and noodles are so yummy. And the banh bèo is delicious!! Always leaving satisfied 🙂

The atmosphere and design are nice. Very modern, however they are under staffed / over priced. There are better options down the street.
I love Pho and was looking forward to their American Wagyu. From the images and description it appeared to be cut rounds of steak but what came out was more akin to ground beef. For almost $30 it was not great and the noodles / broth were lacking. On service: We were seated fairly but waited 10 mins for water and about 10 mins for our order to be taken. Staff were friendly but struggled to keep up with their customers

Phi was such a gracious host! Food was phenomenal. Most modern viet spots compromise on their authentic flavors to cater to non-Asians but not this spot!!! Tasty familiar viet flavors and beautiful modern atmosphere. Perfect spot and will def come again.

Noodles are freshly made in house, soup portions were huge, service was friendly! Price point is high but we got to bring the broth home for a 2nd portion so worth while. Meat amount is good sugar cane was 9 bucks but was delicious. Phi took care of us shout out to the man 🙂
