For a chain restaurant I feel that the service and food were great. Appetizers were a little slow to come out but we were warned about it prior. Main dish were the teriyaki steak skewers which were delicious.

Disappointing overall. The only dish we enjoyed was the New York strip — that was solid. But the ribs were drowning in sauce, and the skewers were the same, plus way too sweet. The kids didn’t like their burgers either.
On top of that, our waitress offered sides for our dishes without mentioning they’d be an extra charge, which was a surprise on the bill.
The restaurant itself is clean and in a good location, but the food just didn’t deliver for our group of 7.

This was our first time at this particular Outback and we will definetly be going back! Our server, Kaylee was so knowledgable about all of the new items on the menu, and helped us make the best choice. Our drinks were always full and the food came out hot, fast and most importantly perfect. By far, one of the best stores we have eaten at in North Carolina. Thank you to the whole staff!

Our server was pretty good. Not much personality but kept our drinks full. Cheese fries were the best thing we ate. My steak (medium well) was so tough I could barely cut it. Took two bites and had to choke them down. Mac and cheese tasted odd to me but I guess it’s just the way they make theirs. Grilled chicken wasn’t my favorite either. We only came because we had gift cards but we didn’t love the food so I don’t think we will be back. Everything in the building just looked old and run down. The bathroom was actually scary

Server was great. Food not. Blooming onion was very well done. Told waitress but she said cook wouldn’t be happy. Prime rib had the most gristle I’ve ever had on prime rib. Wife ordered ceasar salad and loved it. She also loved the green beans. Wife took me where I wanted for birthday. I’ll not make that same mistake again.

Ordered a kids meal of Mac n cheese and a baked sweet potato, and a bloomin onion to go. Everything that I ate tasted okay. There was a hair in my Mac n cheese, but I was really only going for the potato and onion that I was craving so I was going to just let that go, stuff happens and if I had been eating there I’m sure they would have fixed. When eating my bloomin onion I kept poking something hard in my sauce, fished it out and there was what I hope was a crouton in there. While it may be “just food” in my food this time, the two instances in one order make me seriously consider the possible contamination/cross-contamination that could be going on. I’ll stick to eating at the location further away from me.

The lady that brought out my food was nice and the wait wasn’t long at all.

We waited 40 mins to be seat on a Thursday night. Our food took forever. My food took an hour and by the time I got it, my husband ate his and was full already. I finally got my sides after my husband was half way done with his food. There were other people who got there after us and got their food before us. I guess they dont go by orders but by which dishes is easier or faster to go out first. Smh. My dish was $30 and wasnt worth the price. The drink tray was very dirty and so are the forks. I didn’t realize that until I ate the salad that the back side of the fork has dry veggie stuck to it. I guess they just rinse the utensils and not wash them clean. The sirloin look cheap and so does the chicken. Looks like frozen meat. After 2 hours, 40 mins waiting and the rest waiting for my food, I barely ate and just pack the food to go. Also I was charge separately for one of the side which was supposed to be part of the combo. A bill up too $100. I dont mind paying but the dirty plates and forks was a big “NO” for me. As for customer service, our waitress was nice and check up on us although she was busy.

Corporate should close this place down. One of the worst dining experiences of my life. Only thing worse than the food was the service. We were seated directly behind the hostess stand and got to watch our waitress pick and rub her nose for a hour while we waited for our food. She got our order wrong (which happens and normally wouldn’t even be an issue, but she was extremely rude about it and it took another 40 minutes just to bring out a bowl of soup. Then she disappeared for another 20 minutes before she brought the bill. Then a whole other ordeal ensued. They have a huge sign right beside the front door advertising a gift card promotion. I bought a $100 gift card, and then they refused to honor their promotion for the bonus cards. The “manager” who looked like he hadn’t bathed in 3 weeks refused to honor the gift card promotion even though it was literally being advertised on the sign right behind him, and the manager above him refused to honor it as well. The table directly behind us ended up cussing the head manager out after 3 trips to their table, sending back an overcooked steak, and sending back a warm beer, so apparently they had a worse time than we did. This is the first time I’ve ever left anything other than a 5 star review for a restaurant, but everything about this dining experience was horrendous to the point of being disgraceful. We will never go back to this location again.

EDIT TO ADD TO OWNERS RESPONSE BELOW- We did reach out and were met with horrible and rude customer service by Nikki! What’s the point now????? Is this response to make others feel like you’re “fixing” the problem?? THEY DIDN’T!!
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Nikki shouldn’t be the manager of this place!!! She’s a horrible lady with the worst customer service ever!! They charged us more than we were supposed to be charge and her response is “there’s nothing I can do”, no sympathy, no apology for charging too much!! Not to mention the food was horrible!! We won5 be back!! Check out their reviews, they have more bad than good, I wonder why!? Texas Roadhouse is so much better, better food, better service, and the atmosphere is so much better!

The Hickory, NC location truly understands customer service. We had a long wait time on a pick up order. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us while waiting. Once home, the order was correct and the food delicious.
