We both have multiple food allergies and special dietary restrictions, which usually makes dining out stressful and rare for us. True Food Kitchen has completely changed that experience. They are incredibly knowledgeable about cross-contamination, avoid seed oils, and offer so many gluten-free and dairy-free options. The kitchen is an open concept, so you can see the food preparation, which makes it an exciting atmosphere. For the first time in a long time, we feel normal going out to eat and that means so much to us.
The food is consistently delicious. Some of our absolute favorites are the salmon, the steak, the grass-fed burger, the spaghetti squash, the prickly pear drink, and the gluten-free chocolate chip cookies with dairy-free vanilla ice cream. We always have the cookies warmed up and take extra home, they’re that good! I would love if coconut milk was added as a dairy option with the coffee selections though.
Beyond the food, the service is exceptional. Every server we’ve had has been kind, helpful, patient and attentive. Most recently, Mason waited on us for Valentine’s Day and made the entire experience feel so special. Mason was warm, inviting, and created such a fun atmosphere for everyone in the section. I feel like the holiday was well staffed for how busy it was too! It truly made the holiday memorable.
True Food Kitchen is truly the best restaurant. We’re so grateful to have found a place where we can eat safely, enjoy amazing food, and feel so welcomed every single time. It is always good to make a reservation too. Highly recommend!
When you think of healthy food, typically taste is sacrificed for health but I never felt like that is the case here. No matter what I get here, it’s always at least decent if not delicious. It is also really cool to see the open concept kitchen where you can easily see all the chefs prepare the whole foods. It is evident that they take pride in their food.
The only thing that I am taking a star off for is that I have often felt rushed when dining there. We also asked for no sauce on the grass fed burger and when we received the burger with sauce on it and pointed it out the person who appeared to be the manager just replied “ok…?” like we were annoying him or he didn’t understand what the issue was.
Overall, love this place and will continue coming here for my tummy friendly food!
They used to have a wonderful menu item that was my go-to and hit protein goals, while offering a good portion of veggies. This was the steak with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. This seems to have been replaced with steak frites, which I ordered on our last visit on 1/9/26.
The cut of steak that came out was very fatty and came out well done, after ordering it medium rare. The fries that came with it seemed old and not fresh or crispy as advertised and both items were a bit on the cool side. It seemed like it was a reheated dish made earlier in the day. I’m not sure what was going on this night, but something was just off.
Additionally, there weren’t many diners at the time we were there and our server disappeared until the end of our meal. That was unusual as we typically get checked in on a couple of times throughout the meal.
Otherwise, we usually enjoy the menu and service very much and I’m sure we will be back and hopefully, whatever was going on in the kitchen on 1/9 will have gotten worked out. Please consider bringing back the older steak item you removed from your menu. It’s SO much better than the current steak frites option.
