We stopped in at the Peking Inn tonight for dinner. The restaurant was quite busy and appears to be a popular choice for the locals. We were seated at a lovery booth and were brought some nice hot tea by our terrific server, Maddie. Maddie asked if we had any questions about the menu as this was our first time at the restaurant. We asked about the soups and entrees and decided on two cups of egg flower soup with the crispy noodles as our appetizer. We then ordered our entrees with orange chicken and beef and broccoli. Both dishes were very good. Maddie provided excellent service. The ambiance was quite cozy and warm as well. The food was plentiful so we took quite a bit home for tomorrow. We also each had an egg roll which were delicious. Good food and service.
Highly recommended.

Beef chow fun (rice noodle) was okay. Had a hint of “wok air”, mostly in the beef…. and as you can see from my pic… the beef is few and far in between. For $19.84, I expect a few more pieces of meat.

Very soft rice noodles(meh), not very wet (the authentic way to do it is not too wet. Couldn’t even explain what i wanted to the staff as the front desk staff were all super Caucasian). Flavor was…fine, somewhat weak.

Back when I worked and lived in Camarillo, I would come over to Peking Inn all the time for their lunch special. I’ve vividly remember how friendly they were, and how flavorful the food was. The lunch special prices were reasonable too.

We were visiting a few of our friends that own store in the same shopping center, so decided what the heck let’s pop in and do the lunch special like old times.

Just as remembered, the restaurant had the same 90s decor and friendly folks there to greet you at the door. And based on the clientele already seated, you could tell this is still very much a locals favorite restaurant.

They also take a traditional approach towards what they offer. We went to wash up before eating, then came back to find T, water, and fried wonton strips with dipping sauce.

A few minutes later, our super friendly server came over and asked if we had any questions. We had a late breakfast, so decided just to order a couple of soups. Everything was delicious as remembered and again, stellar service from the staff.

The only thing we were a little surprised to see was the prices on the menu. Most Chinese restaurants that we frequent Ventura County have lunch specials ranging between $12 and $14 per plate. the average lunch special here was about $16 per plate. And like other lunch specials, it comes with soup and such as well. We were just surprised to see dinner prices for lunch specials.

Great service, good food, and nice atmosphere always make up for a successful restaurant. Peking Inn hits all of these and makes it no wonder that they have been in business all these years now.

I came here with a customer we were in the mood to grab some Chinese food and he was right by here and having seen so many of my yelp friends who love this place. it was a no brainer.

Our lunch line up consisted of;
Hot & Sour Soup – thick and rich with flavor
Hot & Crispy Chicken – deep fried chicken with a toss in spicy sweet sauce
Mongolian Beef steak – with scallions, black pepper and onions sautéed together.
Beef with Black Pepper – it consists of sliced beef that is first marinated in a soy sauce and wine mixture tossed in a black pepper sauce with, onions, and green pepper served on a bead of lettuce.
the green tea was very good too.

The service was very good it wasn’t too busy so we got a nice booth. definitely will return for more yummy Chinese goodness.

Amazing authentic Chinese. Great service and ambience.

Only knocking a star since I do feel it’s like 15-20% too expensive. If it was priced better would be 5 stars and I’d come every week.

Been coming here for over 30 years. Service and food are always excellent. Owned by the same kind, efficient family for all this time. I get Peking Shrimp which is my all time favorite, plus brown rice and spicy soup. Their shrimp is high quality.
It’s the best Chinese food in the county and they’re well known for their homemade dim-sum.

I ordered Peking Duck & it was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! For the price of $65.95, it’s a waste of money, it was very dry & bland in flavor. And it came with tortillas instead of bun. Waited for 2 hours for the order & not worth it!

I am going to try to be fair to this restaurant, the food was good, but my experience was not. Right when we walked in there was an overwhelming smell of standing water, not quite sewage, but not pleasant. Our waiter served us hot tea, but never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. The tea is made with what I assume is tap water, all we tasted was chlorine. My party ordered dim sum (basically just appetizers) and war won ton soup. In the hour we were there we were only served the soup and 2 of the 4 appetizers that we had ordered. Upon getting the 1st one, chicken wrapped in seaweed, I cut into it and the chicken was completely raw. They apologized and took it back. We then got the chicken and shrimp dumplings and those were pretty good, then we were told that they didn’t have one of the items that we had ordered. By this time we had been waiting about an hour, and we had to leave. As we were getting ready to leave was when the returned item was finally done, and the last item on our order was finally done. So we had to have it all packed up, and we didn’t really get to eat lunch today.
