Kid friendly place, the waiter accompanied us very nicely and asked if we didn’t like something that they would be able to switch it out. Nice peaceful quiet atmosphere. Nice outside view, drinks come with kids meals. Nice seating options. Friendly staff. Nicely refilled our drinks, Our server Bailey was great!!! Easy walking access. Took at least 50 minutes to get our food. The chicken is amazing and fresh!!!! I recommend coming here!!!!

Spanky’s was a solid stop on River Street and it’s easy to see why they’ve been around for over 50 years. They’re known for their chicken fingers, so that’s what I went with—alongside a Miller—and it didn’t disappoint. The chicken was wet-battered, crispy, and not over-seasoned, which let the flavor of the meat come through. It came with their house-made ranch and a horseradish honey sauce, both of which were great complements. Service was friendly and helpful from start to finish. Definitely worth trying at least once if you’re walking the riverfront.

Food was ok. We were there today 2/16/26. We sat near the bar and after like 20 minutes were finally acknowledged and asked what we wanted to drink. Took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The lady behind the bar was very friendly, but obviously overwhelmed attending to a full bar and the surrounding tables. The other ladies didn’t want to really help her out at all. We ordered an 8 piece chicken finger basket and a personal pizza. It took about 45 minutes to get the chicken fingers and then we waited and waited. After 1 hour and 50 minutes of waiting and the waitress checking multiple times with the kitchen she comes to let us know that our pizza was apparently given to another table and that it would be about another 45 minutes for our pizza to come out!!!! Craziness! For a personal 2 topping pizza of just mushrooms and onions. I get that the restaurant was busy with the large volleyball tournament group that was seated at the back of the restaurant but come on. 2 hours and 45 minutes for a 2 topping personal pizza!?
Chicken fingers were good, sauces were good.
Bar server was nice, but had to get her attention several times for things as basic as drink refills.
Kitchen staff and whomever was in charge on Monday 2/16/26 at 1PM needs better training on knowing how to manage large crowds and at least check in on your staff that’s obviously drowning/ overwhelmed and provide updates on kitchen backups to paying customers. I appreciate the discount applied to our order fo the wait, but a bit more communication would have been better. Left the restaurant after waiting 2+ hours for food I never received and went somewhere else. Will probably never go back to Spanky’s

So before we came here, I read through numerous reviews. Many talked about how great the chicken fingers were and sliced potatoes. Also concerns about food temperature, cleanliness and staff. Average was the next we could come up with all.

The chili was lukewarm and mostly tomato based (only picture I took at end of meal). The fingers looked crispy but were average. The pickle was served on top so the breading on the chicken became pickle soaked. The potato slices were slightly breaded, no seasoning, and just bland and tasted like 1/4” cooked slices of potato. Not crispy or anything special. Fries were lightly breaded but not crispy, so average again. French’s mustard, but not Heinz ketchup. Blue Plate mayo. The sweet tea was very sugary.

We were literally first in the restaurant at opening, with a line of people waiting to get inside, including repeats who spoke positively about the fingers. People walking past also commented how good the fingers were. The table we were set at had a cherry stem, was sticky and you could see crumbs on it. Ours had obviously not been cleaned. At the end of the day, it was a typical bar food/atmosphere experience. The food and service was average, staff were super friendly, but don’t expect high quality food. It was a bit pricey and cost more than our dinner!

I was visiting from out of town and i chanced upon this cozy lil place. It is located right on the River walk. Service was great and the folks at the bar were warm and friendly. The fish n chips i ordered was well seasoned and tasty. I will be back the next time I’m in town.

This place is kid friendly, although there’s a bar near the front entrance. The menu had a good variety. The turkey burger was flavorful, the kid’s pizza was cheesy, and the chicken tenders taste more a of beer batter instead of the dry flour baste. Overall good.

Stopped by on a cold and windy night, so it was pretty empty inside. Our server was so nice, but it took a little bit to get our food, especially considering how empty it was inside. Everything was piping hot when it arrived, though.

I got the sampler platter, which came with fingers, fried pickles, taters, and mozz sticks. The chicken fingers and sauces were fantastic, and the ranch tasted housemade. The pickles were tasty and hand breaded, but the mozzarella sticks seemed frozen (like Arby’s), and the taters needed some seasoning as they were kind of bland. My husband got fries with his finger basket, and he loved them – they’re battered and seasoned fries. We would definitely come back, but we’d stick to just the chicken fingers and fries next time.

OMG, delicious chicken tenders and spuds. I heard about this place from Savannah locals and it lived up to the hype. Great, friendly staff and very affordable.

This is the place that introduced the battered chicken tender. We had chicken tenders with battered potatoes along with nachos with salsa and quesso. Nachos were ok but the tenders were nice and juicy. The bloody marys are excellent and almost a meal in itself. They also come with a skewered chicken tender.Service was excellent and it is a great location on River Street. Fun place.
