Since 1970… It has been our pleasure to serve the freshest and most delicious Italian and Sicilian food available. It really started before 1970, when Tommaso “Mazzi” Ernandes decided to set out from his home in Favignana, a little island about 12 miles off the westernmost tip of Sicily. His son, Frank, attended the University of Oregon in Eugene and, after graduating, decided to open a little Italian restaurant named after his father. Papa wanted to be where the action was and took Mama with him. They loved to help around the restaurant. Many of our recipes are adapted from the families of Papa and Mama Mazzi, and originate from Favignana. Each dish carries the homemade stamp of quality usually found only in the Italian home kitchen….
Cozy Sicilian & Italian eatery with patio seating offering pasta, thin-crust pizza & hearty entrees.

We made reservations for after the show. I had worked at a Mazzi’s in the 70’s in a different town and was hoping to taste a little nostalgia. We were early for our reservations so we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails. They were delicious and the banter was just as entertaining. The bartender definitely took pride in his job and craft. My next drink was a zero proof drink that went off the path and was delicious. This young man turned out to be our server and again the pride and knowledge of the staff is beyond compare. The stuffed mushrooms were as I remembered, the perfect mix of cheese and garlic. Unfortunately we were so hungry I forgot to take a picture but the presentation was spot on. My first bite of my Calzone triggered the endorphins and made me smile. That sauce….. I highly recommend eating there, make a reservation and make sure you have time to savor the food and the atmosphere. Bonus points, Frank was there talking to all the patrons. I was able to chat with him a bit.

I was looking for a place to celebrate by husband’s birthday and we LOVE Italian food. Both of us studied abroad in Italy for a while so we can be a little picky when it comes to authentic Italian food but this place is IT!! The food is fresh and full of flavor from Italy (including a great wine list with wines from Italy). They hand make their pasta and have their own Italian family recipe for sausage that tastes like heaven! And beyond the food, the atmosphere of the place reminded us so much of Italy; There was no rush to get in or out, just taking our time enjoying a long family meal. The wait staff had great recommendations too and made sure we were satisfied. We’ll be going back again and SOON!

We absolutely loved our visit! The food was delicious, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. However, the real highlight was our incredibly knowledgeable server. He provided expert recommendations on pairing dishes with our wine, and every suggestion was spot on. The way the spice complemented their Riesling was an unforgettable experience. Seriously, magic! It was an explosion of flavor that knocked our socks off! It was a perfect balance that elevated the entire meal and experience. I can’t wait to go back!

My experience here was lovely. I had Liam as my server. His table service was high quality in every fashion. His recommendations were informative and insightful, his demeanor was classy and warm simaltaneously, as well as the way he incorporated his lovely charm throughout the course of our meal, making the experience one to remember. His cocktails were sublime, and honestly when I come back, I’ll surely request him as my server, as I suggest anyone should.

I recently enjoyed a family dinner at Mazzi’s. I had the braised short rib, which was on special and it was absolutely fantastic! Full of amazing flavour and cooked perfectly. Everyone else loved their dishes as well. Next time in Eugene I will be sure to lists again!

Took a walk down memory lane with my sorority sisters from 40+ years ago. Had about 25 of us here for dinner. So much fun but, while our server, Liam, was fabulous, he should have had some help besides just delivering orders. It took a long time to get everyone’s order in but the food came fast. Nothing like the calzone here. So delicious! Took home enough for 2 more meals!

We had reservations for 4:30 and they couldnt find them. I showed the confirmation on my phone. They seated us right away. We ordered beverages and our dinners. It took over an hour to get our food. The food was great but why did it take so long? There were only 2 of us.

Amazing! The food was excellent, they also had a wide variety of food, ranging from Caesar Salad to steak and short ribs. We had pizza, ravioli, lasagna, and short ribs. Our server was very nice, giving us attention unlike other restaurants. Our server also helped us with choosing a dish. I loved the atmosphere of the whole place too. The wait time was around an hour, pretty average for Italian restaurants. This is overall a really good restaurant to choose.

Liam, our server was good. Calamari was the of one of the best that I have ever eaten. It really melts in your mouth. It’s usually rubbery or chewy in many places that I have visited. Parmesson Eggplant and Chicken Pesto, both pasta was overcooked, but guess that is how some establishment does to suit local taste buds. Tiramisu was the best among the 3.
