Reviews
The service is exactly what you’d expect from places like this: straightforward, quick, and friendly.
The pizza is good, with no pretensions.
Few tourists, many locals.
They could perhaps pay a bit more attention to small details (for example, I’d avoid pouring Coca-Cola into a beer glass), but again: no frills, good quality, fair prices.
Recommended for a quick, no-nonsense pizza.
for the staff, the ladies are fairly friendly, one tall male staff is nonchalant. the one that threw everything off was the shorter grey haired male staff. no one sees your hand raised, so when he finally saw my waving hand, he stared for a second and rudely, disrespectfully, and in the annoyed way signalled “what do you want?”. he did not even step closer to interact, and got someone else to bring the condiments we requested. this one experience completely brought this restaurant into the ditch, if not it would have at least deserved a 3 star.
now onto the food. i’m not sure if it’s the style of the pizza, but the base is stretched so thin it doesn’t hold up when you pick it up with your hands. to make it worse, the pizza was WATERY. from the sauce or cheese, i don’t know. it made the dough soggy and even harder to pick it up as time goes by. and when you get to the crust, it’s just hard dough. this is the worst pizza i had in my life.
we got the caprese (absolutely no flavour and a pain to eat) and maialona (good flavour but thrown off but the dough standard). burrata fritta was still ok, something special. but the pizza is an absolute no go regardless of which flavour you choose.
My choice simply had a rich tomato sauce and creamy burrata. My wife go the Diavola, with tomato sauce, mozzarella ,spicy pepperoni, and olives. Both were enhanced by the leopard-spot char on the crust from the wood-burning oven.
Accompany with a craft beer or wine – it was delicious.
Inside not so many seats, so it may be hard to get a seat.
Interior is simple as it can be. Be ready to sit very close to other tables.
Very cheap prices.
You clearly need to eat it with a fork and knife (that’s why they’re provided). The toppings were absolutely delicious and the dough was perfect to cut through. It’s so fresh rather than the greasy stuff you get at your non-Italian place.
