This place is a gem! Charlene’s will reach its ten year anniversary this May & there’s a reason why. With its lifelong cook & cozy atmosphere (where you can also browse and purchase antiques) this place will welcome you with open arms. You know it’s good when you immediately feel like home & each person makes you feel like family. A Maybee establishment that you cannot miss when visiting or passing through!

This is definitely a well kept secret that shouldn’t be kept. It’s such a friendly place. From the eclectic decor to the vintage games and books in a bookshelf it’s truly a wonderful place to eat. The menu is simple but the food is delicious. The staff was so warm and friendly. Even Lisa the cook came out to chat a bit to give us some history on the place. It’s a little diner to relax, slow down and just enjoy the atmosphere. I’ve lived in the area for four years and this is my first visit but not the last. There are limited hours, so make it a plan to visit!

Hidden gem!! So worth the drive. Walked right in. The owner is fantastic. We made a new friend. The food is great. Home cooked. Pricing is reasonable and portions are plenty. The peach French toast maybe one of my all time favorite foods. I definitely recommend to others. I will be coming back soon!!

Charlene’s is your quintessential, small (SMALL) town diner. Prepare to sit and sip your coffee, read a book or the newspaper, color with your kids, and just enjoy your time there. The waitress is always timely and good at keeping you topped off and taken care of. Getting your food is not as fast as bigger and more well known diners, but that’s because you’ve got a one-woman show in the back cooking everything. And boy does she do a fantastic job! The food is delicious, well made, filling, and will make you want to come back for more! We adore this little gem. We’ve only ever been there for breakfast, but if their lunches and dinners are anything like it, I’m sure it’s just as delicious. Come for a purely home cooked meal, the kind ladies running the place, and to support a local, small diner. You won’t be disappointed!

I really love the warm atmosphere. I just happened to find this hidden gem one morning while I was on my way to work and starving! Such a cute little drive. Just love them 100% Made me miss living in a small town where the community was close. Definitely my new favorite. We had a really good experience. It’s all about the folks that are providing the service. She said my name is Lisa but everyone calls me Charlene. That’s it I was hooked. I like the family feel. It’s kind of like going to someone’s Mom’s house for lunch and I just love that!!!
I drive from Ann Arbor to enjoy this cute little town! Makes me want to keep coming back. Charlene’s Curbside Cafe is my new favorite breakfast spot. The drive is just beautiful. My friend had a wheelchair and they were happy to accommodate us. It was cool! I really like the people and their biscuits and gravy was amazing! This place blew me away! Yum!

Absolutely Made my day! First time stopping, new to the area.
Walked in and was instantly greeted, and before I could even say the word coffee they had it poured in a mug for me. I was in a terrible mood having a bad morning and left with a smile and a killer fresh Bacon egg and cheese Breakfast sandwich.
I can’t wait to go back and be able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and try other things on the menu!. Lots of antiques and Crystal pieces for sale on display. Quick,Clean and friendly. Thanks for brightening my day

Lovely little spot serving up without a doubt one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. And it’s a BIG breakfast, so bang for your buck you’re getting a couple of meals out of one of their scrambles. Staff are incredibly charming and friendly, really make you feel like you’re enjoying a home cooked meal in their own home. If I’m ever in 50 miles of Maybee again I’m coming here. TIP YOUR SERVER!!!
