This was my first time at The Lodge. Very cute pod, all the prices are insane for small town Scappoose. Including the prices at MZ Philly.
I ordered the #24 Philly Over Fries and the Jalapeno Poppers. The Philly Over Fries states you can choose beef, lamb or chicken so I asked for lamb and to choose cheese whiz or provolone. The conversation went:
“Can I get the Philly Over Fries with Lamb and Provolone”
“So you mean the Lamb Over Fries?”
It was off-putting because I just read the menu item the way it was written and correcting me felt kind of belittling. But I wasn’t too worried about it, I’m just mentioning it because it’s a part of the whole picture.
The Jalapeno Poppers looked nothing like the photo and only came with 5 very sad teeny, tiny poppers over a bed of fries. Really odd choice.
The appearance, taste and texture all remind me of Sysco foods from when I was in elementary school lol
You could literally go buy the Great Value crinkle fries from Walmart, they are EXACTLY the same thing.
The taste in the “Lamb Over Fries” was fine. Really basic and a little odd but I can’t put my finger on what it is that tastes off. The lamb isn’t overcooked so that’s a plus, very easy to overcook lamb.
The 5 measly poppers came in at $8, not even remotely worth it. And why are they one a literal mountain of Walmart french fries? Because fries are cheaper. But I didn’t order MORE fries to go with my other fries.
The Lamb Fries were $15 and that’s insane for the cheapness and subpar quality of the food. I’ve had better cheesy fries from DQ at half the price.
I’m all about supporting local businesses which is why we stopped by these food carts tonight. And I don’t even mind overpaying to support local, as long as the quality is there. I will visit The Lodge again, but I won’t be ordering from MK Philly ever again.
Good portions they fill you up
Prices to me are about right with food costs and what it takes to run a business my go to in town always happy to help you and smiling
