I have never had a better Indian meal than the one my husband, Christopher, and I enjoyed last night at Swadish. The balance of flavors, the presentation, the lovely service, and the beautiful surroundings—everything was perfect. It truly made our day!
The Highlights of Our Evening:
The Nibbles: We started with the Trio of Chutneys and Poppadoms. They were sensational—crisp, fresh, and not oily at all. The mango chutney, pickled carrot, and spiced onion salsa provided so many layers of flavor and texture.
The Mains: I had the Goan Monkfish, which was cooked to perfection with hints of star anise and tamarind. Christopher opted for the Butter Chicken. We shared a side of the fragrant Basmati Pilau Rice and a blue cheese naan (next level ). Everything was immaculate!
The Drinks: The pairings were spot on; Christopher had a refreshing Indian IPA, and my Riesling Sec was the perfect crisp companion to the spices.
The Grand Finale: We shared the Mango Kulfi for dessert. Between the salted caramel, coconut crumble, and toasted pistachio it was so delicious we were fighting over the last spoonful!
Thank you, Swadish, for a truly immaculate experience. We cannot wait to come back!
For mains, we both had the butter chicken. It was nice but nothing to rave about, had much nicer elsewhere in Glasgow. The garlic naan was the best part of our meal!
We had gulab jamun and ice cream to share for dessert. Didn’t manage to get a picture but couldn’t believe it when they brought out 1 solitary ball of gulab jamun and ice cream – again this was so bland and for £6 definitely not worth the money.
Service was friendly but slow given that there were only 3 tables occupied within the restaurant.
Sadly would not return to Swadish. Food is mediocre and there are much better Indian restaurants in Glasgow city centre.
The food is impeccable. The meat is perfectly cooked, the flavours all stand out and the portion sizes are good. It’s not your typical chopped meat in sauce, it’s really fine dinning done Indian style.
The service was excellent, all of the staff were great.
I’m really looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.
We were served by Ayush. The service was perfect and attentive. We were able to take our time and every dish and the nuanced flavors were explained to us as we received them.
Overall, this meal made my trip.
Suck, Scallops, Pigeon, Pork Belly, Pork Curry, Monkfish, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan.
Perfection.
